Megan Thee Stallion electrified the stage of Oscars 2022 when she surprised the crowd by appearing and performing "We Don't Talk About Bruno" with the "Encanto" cast on Sunday.
Megan appeared on the stage wearing a yellow gown different from her red carpet outfit, per E! News.
The performance was started by John Leguizamo, the voice behind Bruno, when he introduced his "Encanto" family on the stage, according to People.
Carolina Gaintán then opened the song with Mauro Castillo. Other "Encanto" stars, Stephanie Beatriz, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, and Diana Guerrero, then joined them in the performance.
About halfway into the performance, the camera then revealed Megan Thee Stallion, stunning her gown.
Megan then rapped a brand new version of the song that also mentioned several stars who attended the 94th Annual Academy Awards.
"Stars everywhere, I need to see Oscars Zendaya over there... Oh no, we got three hosts. These women are the best and they killin all the jokes," Megan said in her rap.
Becky G, Luis Fonsi, and Shiela E. also joined the cast of "Encanto" in their performance at the Oscars 2022, per Insider.
The star-studded rendition of "We Don't Talk About Bruno" marks the first live performance of the "Encanto" song written by Lin Manuel Miranda.
Despite its popularity, the said music was not nominated for Best Original Song.

Actress Kerry Washington also praised Megan's performance, saying that people don't have to talk about Bruno and asked if they can talk about the rapper.
However, not everyone was pleased with the version of the song performed at Oscars 2022.
One commenter said that the latest performance cut off the best part of the song.
that WE DONT TALK ABOUT BRUNO performance was incredibly disappointing. Literally NO ONE asked for Fonsi, Becky G or Megan the Stallion. the song was fine with the original cast alone! #Oscars2022 #Oscars #encanto

Another user said that he was disappointed with the version, claiming that it was "incredibly disappointing." The fan furthered that no one asked for Fonsi, Becky G, or Megan to be in the performance, contending that the "Encanto" cast can do justice to the song alone.

The performance came a day after Lin Manuel Miranda announced that he would not be able to make it to the Oscars this year, citing health issues.
Miranda took to Twitter to announce that his wife tested positive for COVID-19. He also assured that he and his kids were doing fine and that they tested negative for the disease.
