LeBron James Calls Kyrie Irving 'God-rie' After Huge Game vs. Celtics, Thinks Nets Star Should Be in NBA 75
Lakers star LeBron James lauded Kyrie Irving for his basketball skills on Sunday after the Nets faced the Celtics in the first game of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.
James took to Twitter to praise Irving after showing a breathtaking performance during the game, per The Spun.
"Damn shame he ain't Top 75," LeBron said, pairing his statement with a slapping face emoji.
James also quoted a tweet from DJ Steph Floss, claiming that the NBA should remove someone from the Top 75 and place Kyrie Irving Instead. In February, the NBA released a list of players deemed the 75 greatest players in the league's history.
The list was released in celebration of the league's 75th anniversary, according to The Sporting News.
The NBA 75 is composed of players, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Carmelo Anthony, and Ray Allen. Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, and Lebron James were also included.
The NBA 75th anniversary team was selected by a panel of media members, current and former players, team executives, and coaches.
The Sporting News reported that a similar list was compiled ahead of the 1996 to 1997 season and honored the 50 greatest players of all time.

LeBron James praised Irving on Sunday multiple times on Twitter. His comment about wanting the Nets star in the NBA 75 came after he called Irving "God-rie."
"Young God-rie is so damn good at basketball man!!! INSANE SKILL," LeBron James pointed out.
LeBron and Kyrie have a history of playing basketball in the NBA.
According to Bleacher Report, the two helped Cleveland bag its first championship in any sport after leading the Cavaliers to an NBA title win against the Golden State Warriors in 2016.
With their performance, the Cavaliers overcame a deficit to take down the Golden State, which had a record by finishing 73-9 in the regular season.
A year after Cleveland won the title, Irving exited the team and went to Boston Celtics.
When he transferred Brooklyn Nets, Irving mentioned that Kevin Durant was the first teammate he truly trusted.
These comments made James admit that he was "hurt" by Irving's statements.
