Joe Biden, Unsure If He Would Visit Ukraine Amid Calls From Volodymyr Zelenskyy | Here's What He Says
President Joe Biden on Tuesday opened up about President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Call for him to visit Ukraine amid its war with Russia.
Speaking to a reporter for UNF News, Biden said that he was unsure if he will visit Ukraine, New York Post reported.
"The answer is I don't know," Biden underscored.
The reporter then followed up with a question if Biden wants to visit Ukraine
However, President Joe Biden noted that he has been to Ukraine many times and he just has not been there recently, unlike any other president.
Earlier this week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed that he expects Biden to visit Ukraine.
Zelenskyy said that he thinks Biden will visit but pointed out that it is still the U.S. president's decision if he wanted to. Zelenskyy added that as the leader of the United States, Biden should come to Ukraine and see the effects of the Russian invasion in their country.
However, Biden administration officials have shut down the idea of President Joe Biden traveling to the war-torn country, with White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan saying that the president has no plans of doing so.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on the other hand said in a podcast interview that they will not be sending Biden to Ukraine.
So far, European officials have traveled to Ukraine in light of the Russian invasion.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the country on April 9. The presidents of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, also journeyed to Ukraine on April 13. Meanwhile, prime ministers of the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Poland went to Kyiv on March 15.

Pres. Joe Biden Pledges Artillery to Ukraine
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden also promised Ukraine for more artillery to fend off Russia in its vicinity. Defense News noted that Biden made his comments to the reporters during his trip to New Hampshire.
Biden did not clarify how many artilleries will be sent to Ukraine from the U.S.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed that Biden discussed securing more ammunition and security assistance for Kyiv. Psaki said that Biden opened up about the matter during a video call among the leaders of several U.S. allies, including Poland, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, France, and Germany.
Meanwhile, Republican Senator Rob Portman from Ohio wrote a letter to Biden last week calling for a coordinator or military Czar, that would synchronize the whole government approach in arming Ukraine.
Portman noted that the said key person would serve as the chief liaison between the U.S. and its allies abroad regarding the transfer of weapons to Ukraine.
Global Aid to Ukraine
The United States is not the only country that will help Ukraine.
According to BBC, Chancellor Olaf Scholz highlighted that Germany was providing finance to enable Ukraine to enable the country to buy anti-tank weapons and ammunition from German Arms manufacturers.
The Czech Republic said that their forces will repair Ukrainian tanks and armored vehicles that were damaged during combat.
BBC also noted that global leaders also discussed how to provide security guarantees to Ukraine after the war, even though it is not a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
