Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a photo on his Instagram account, showing his whole family after the death of his baby boy and the birth of his daughter.

The Manchester United icon wrote on his Instagram post, "home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally with us." He then thanked everyone who offered kind words and gestures.

Ronaldo welcomed the birth of his twin children on Monday but also announced that his baby boy had died.

The photo shows his other four children, three of which were born through surrogates. He was also with his partner Georgina Rodriguez in the photo.

He concluded his post by saying that it is time to be "grateful for the life that we've just welcomed into this world."

Cristiano Ronaldo's Baby Boy's Passing

The football star announced last year that he was expecting twins with his partner, Georgina Rodriguez. He revealed on Monday that Rodriguez gave birth to a boy and girl, but their son had died, according to a Metro News report.

The two said in their joint statement that the passing of their baby boy is "the greatest pain that any parent can feel."

They also expressed their gratitude to doctors and nurses for their expert care and support.

Rodriguez kept her pregnancy mostly under wraps. But she did share a photo of her getting a baby scan where she was joined by their other children.

Ronaldo has also posted a photo of himself and Rodriguez showing their twins' ultrasounds, with an image of his four children swimming together.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Children

Cristiano Ronaldo's oldest son Cristiano Jr. was born in 2010 in the United States. However, he was immediately taken back to Madrid to be raised in Spain, with the identity of his mother unknown, according to a Daily Mail report. The Portuguese player agreed to keep everything about Cristiano Jr.'s mother confidential.

He then announced the news that he was expecting twins Eva and Mateo in June 2017 through a surrogate.

It was one month later that he and his partner Rodriguez were expecting their first child together.

Rodriguez then gave birth to their daughter Alana on Nov. 12, 2017. The doctor who took charge of Rodriguez's last birth was Tamara Degenhardt.

Degenhardt is still believed to be at the hospital where she leads its Prenatal Diagnosis Unit.

Cristiano Ronaldo With Manchester United

Ronaldo returned to training with his team Manchester United on Wednesday. He was then granted compassionate leave by the team for as long as he needed with the passing of his son, according to a SI News report.

He did not feature in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, where both sets of players were playing black armbands, and fans held a minute's applause to show support for him and his family.

Ronaldo was reported to have taken part in a full training session and is expected to play on Saturday when United visits Arsenal in the Premier League.
