President Joe Biden and his administration will hit Russia's companies with a new sanctions aimed to punish Moscow for its war with Ukraine.

According to The Hill, the White House announced on Sunday that the new sanctions to be issued by the Biden administration will prevent Russian companies and citizens from utilizing U.S. accounting, marketing, and consulting services.

The new package of sanctions from the Biden administration will also include new visa restrictions on 2,600 Russian and Belarusian officials.

Russian bank executives, including 27 Gazprombank executives, will also be impacted by the new package.

"Today's actions are a continuation of the systematic and methodical removal of Russia from the global financial and economic system," a senior Biden administration official said on Sunday.

The said official added that the message of the new packages implies that "there will be no safe haven for the Russian economy if Vladimir Putin's invasion continues."

Some of the television networks in Russia will also be affected by the new package of sanctions imposed by the Biden administration.

Reports claimed that three major Russian-state-controlled TV stations, including Channel One Russia and NTV Broadcasting Company, will also be sanctioned by the U.S. The White House claimed that the television companies are among the biggest recipients of foreign money.

"No U.S. company can be in the business of funding or supporting the disinformation machine that makes the truth of Putin's barbaric invasion behind lies and deceit," the senior administration official said.

It was unclear when the Biden administration will impose the new package of sanctions.

First Lady Jill Biden Visits Ukraine's First Lady

The new package of sanctions against Russia came the same day First Lady Jill Biden made an unannounced visit to Uzhhorod, a small city located in the far southwestern corner of Ukraine.

According to CNN, the U.S. first lady met with Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska, at a converted school that now serves as temporary housing for displaced citizens.

The two women reportedly sat at a small table in a classroom of the former school.

"I wanted to come on Mother's Day... We thought it was important to show the Ukrainian people this war has to stop. And this war has been brutal," First Lady Jill Biden said, noting that the people of the United States stand with the people of Ukraine.

Zelenska then expressed her gratitude for Biden's visit through an interpreter.

"We understand what it takes for the U.S. first lady to come here during a war when the military actions are taking place every day, where the air sirens are happening every day, even today. We all feel your support and we all feel the leadership of the U.S. President," Zelenska noted.

Zelenska noted that Biden visiting their country during Mother's Day is very symbolic for them because they felt their love and support during the important day.

First Lady Jill Biden is the latest high-profile American to visit Ukraine in recent weeks. Her visit comes the first time a first lady of the United States has visited a war zone since Laura Bush made a secret visit to Afghanistan in 2008.

Pres. Volodymyr Zelenskyy Says 'Evil Has Returned' During World War II Speech

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday claimed that evil has returned to Europe, during his speech commemorating the second World War, NDTV reported, citing AFP.

"Evil has returned, in a different uniform, under different slogans, but for the same purpose," Zelenskyy underscored.

The president of Ukraine also noted that darkness has returned to their country, adding that Moscow's army was replicating the Nazi atrocities and giving justification that aims to give the evil a sacred purpose.

It can be recalled that both Ukraine and Russia have likened the actions of the other side's army to those of Nazi Germany, which was defeated by the Soviet Union in 1945.

Ukraine invaded Russia in late February, and Moscow has painted its move to "de-Nazify" the country.
