Meghan Markle received a backlash on Thursday after she went to offer flowers to the victims of the Texas school shooting, while his father was in a hospital after he suffered from a stroke.

The Daily Mail noted that Meghan laid a bouquet of white roses at a makeshift memorial outside the Uvalde County Courthouse. The duchess also reportedly dropped by at a Uvalde community center that is holding a blood drive.

Markle's spokesperson told People on Thursday that the Duchess of Sussex went to Texas in her capacity as a mother, and to offer her support and condolences in person to a community that is experiencing an "unimaginable grief."

However, netizens were quick to criticize Megan for what she did, claiming that the royal has not yet visited her father who was admitted to the hospital after experiencing a stroke.

One user commented called Meghan Markle was "callous."

"Shame on you for using the pain of these families for your publicity. All the way from California to Texas, camera in tow, to strike a pose at the memorial site of dead children... A flight to Texas but not to your Dad," the commenter said.

Another user called the duchess "disgusting," alleging Meghan that she included the death of the 21 victims of the Texas school shooting as part of her PR machine. The commenter then suggested Meghan visit her dad and check on him.

Another commenter mentioned by the Daily Mail claimed that Markle's dad had a massive stroke but the royal did not give him a call, card, or even white roses just like what she did in Texas.

Meghan Markle's Dad Hospitalized Following Stroke in Mexico

Meghan's visit to Texas came days after his dad was reportedly rushed to the hospital after suffering from a stroke in Tijuana, Mexico, per the Independent.

Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, was reportedly not able to speak and was said to have been communicating with the paramedics by writing his symptoms on a piece of paper.

Meghan's sister, Samantha Markle, said in a statement that their father is recovering in hospital.

"We ask for privacy for the family, for his health and wellbeing. He just needs peace and rest," Samantha Markle said in a statement.

Meghan Markle's Sister Accuses Duchess of Negligence Regarding Their Father's Health Condition

The Duchess's sister, Samantha, accused the royal of negligence, contending that Meghan Markle has not checked on their unwell dad, Page Six reported.  

Samantha made her comments during an interview on "Dan Wooton Tonight."

"Two heart attacks, a pandemic, and now a stroke. None of us have heard from Meghan - that's negligence," Samantha underscored.

The sister of the duchess also noted that their father does not have a lot of time and if Meghan would not reach out to him she would have to "live with that decision for the rest of her life."

According to reports, Meghan Markle and her father have a "tumultuous" relationship. Their relationship has been the subject of many headlines over the years, including a private letter that she wrote to him that got leaked.
