A Florida mom has prevented a kidnapping incident in the Sunshine State after following her maternal instinct.

Fox News reported that the incident unfolded when two elementary school age girls on bikes were followed by David Daniels, 37, from Cherry's Bar and Grill in Fishhawk's park square last week. The Florida man reportedly told the two girls he would supervise their way home.

According to Daily Mail, Daniels followed the two girls under the age of 12 at around 6 p.m. on June 12. As the man followed the girls past a church, a good Samaritan spotted them and felt something was wrong as she saw Daniels hit one of the girls over the head as he continued to follow behind them.

"One of the little girls was mouthing to me, 'Please help me, this is not my dad," the Florida mom said, adding that Daniels placed one girl in a chokehold and then whispered something to her ear.

The woman, who was standing outside the church that night, noted that she started conversing with Daniels, prompting the suspect to share that they had just moved into the area and wanted to help.

The Florida mom said she felt Daniels was not telling the truth, prompting her to invite the three to the church, where she had the chance to call the authorities.

Police said they found the Florida man walking back to the downtown area when they arrived after the woman requested their presence.

Daniels was arrested on two counts each of false imprisonment of a child and child abuse. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on a $104,000 bond.

Florida Mom Does Not Want to Take Credit for Saving the Girls From 'Kidnapping Attempt'

The Florida mom who saved the two girls from attempted kidnapping said she does not want to take any credit for what she did.

"I don't want to be a hero... I just did what I hope anybody would do for my own kids," the woman said.

The Florida mom further noted that moms like her "are going to recognize the signs, and they are going to know what to do." She admitted that at that moment, she did not know if she "was going to have the right answer."

"But [the children] are fine, and they are home today," the woman added.

Florida Man Previously Arrested in Alabama

Days before David Daniels was arrested in Florida, KIRO 7 reported that the Foley Police Department in Alabama had already arrested him after he trespassed into a home.

Police said Daniels told the homeowners who found him that he was looking for an abducted child, whom he claimed was injured and was locked in a shed.

However, investigators noted that they searched the home and determined that the Florida man was under the influence of drugs when he made the claim. Police said no child was also found.
