Not everyone was shocked when Uruguayan soccer star Luis Suarez bit Giorgio Chiellini during Tuesday's 1-0 Uruguay win. Close to 200 gamblers have cashed in on Suarez's already-infamous bite.

According to FanIQ, more than a couple of international sportsbooks offered the bet, although a gambling site based in Norway reported that before the multinational tournament finals started, it also posted a bet that Suarez, who has been caught biting other players in two other instances in the past, would bite someone else in this year's World Cup.

The so-called novelty bet, or proposition bet, drew 175-to-1 odds.

The reported 167 folks who bet on Suarez's tendency toward cannibalism ended up winners after Suarez sank his teeth into Italian defender Chiellini during Uruguay's win on Tuesday, which sent the South American team to the next round of playoff games.

Suarez is linked with two other on-field biting incidents: one with the Dutch leagues and another with the English Premiership, USA Today reported.

According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, the Norwegian site's biggest winner was a man by the name of Thomas Syversen, who bet 32 Norwegian krone, or, about about $5.25, and won 5600 krone, which a little more than $916.

Mats Johansson, who won 1750 krone, or $260, told Yahoo Sports he debated whether to put down 50 kronor, on the bite bet, but he "chickened out" in the end, he said.

Online sportsbook Betsafe, said the Yahoo Sports report was obligated to pay 39 winners who took the prop bet, including one unnamed bettor who lays claim to nearly $3,000.

"We saw the incident and thought it was obvious," a sites spokesperson told Yahoo Sports. "Betsafe players are in it to win it, and we saw no reason to delay them from getting what they deserve."
