Selena Gomez has earned an Emmy nomination this year for "Only Murders in the Building," but not for acting. She earned her first Emmy nomination as an executive producer.

The Latina actress is co-starring with Martin Short and Steve Martin in the Hulu series, which was also nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, according to USA Today.

Gomez was only the second Latina to get a producing nomination for comedy series. The first one was Salma Hayek for ABC's "Ugly Betty" in 2007.

Gomez is known for her starring role in the Disney television series "Wizards of Waverly Place." Aside from her acting gig, she has hit pop songs such as "Come & Get It" and "Same Old Love."

But before her Disney role, she was also part of PBS children's television series "Barney & Friends" and appeared regularly on the program from 2002 to 2004.

According to Britannica, Gomez was named after the iconic Latina singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez and was raised in suburban Dallas, Texas. Her father is Mexican, while her mother is Italian.

Most of her roles during her early years were more family-friendly. She then moved to a more daring image with her role in the 2012 movie "Spring Breakers," wherein she was an adventure-seeking college student.
