The first wife of Donald Trump, Ivana Trump, died in her home in New York City, leaving behind her three children, Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was 73.

Fox News reported that the former president announced the passing of his ex-wife on his Truth Social platform. According to reports, Ivana was found unconscious on a staircase in her East 64th Street home Thursday.

Police and paramedics arrived at her place after receiving an emergency call at around 12:40 p.m. regarding a person who went into cardiac arrest.

Ivana was pronounced dead at the scene. Donald Trump said Ivana Trump was a "wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life."

Donald Trump and Ivana Trump's Marriage

Donald Trump and Ivana Trump were married for 15 years. The Czech-born former model was married to the former president from 1977 to 1992. Their marriage dissolved amid revelations that Donald was having an affair with Marla Maples, who later became his second wife.

Ivana reportedly encountered Maples while on a family holiday vacation in Aspen, Colorado. In an interview with Barbara Walters, she said she first discovered their relationship while Donald was on a phone call with Maples in Aspen.

When she asked Donald who Maples was, Ivana said he told her that Maples was only a "girl" who had been going after him for the "last two years." The next day, Ivana said she warned one of Maples' friends to leave her husband alone.

However, she noted that Maples suddenly came up to her and declared her love for Donald, prompting her to scream at Donald's mistress to "leave" her husband alone.

Donald and Ivana separated in February 1990, and their divorce was finalized in 1992. Ivana said she had forgiven her ex-husband.

However, she noted that she never forgave Maples, whose affair with her husband scattered on the New York tabloids. Ivana said Maples ruined her family and her marriage, ABC News reported.

According to Ivana, she was taken by the real-estate mogul's looks and mind when they first met in the 1970s. Ivana said Donald told her that she would be ruining her life if she did not marry him.

The couple wed with six of Ivana's friends from Montreal, where she lived before the wedding, and 600 people from New York. She said she did not know most of them.

Ivana noted that her ex-husband told her they could not name their son Donald Trump Jr. due to one concern: he worried his son could be a "loser."

She said it was the same scenario with Ivanka, whom Donald wanted to name Ivanka Tiffany because of "the heir rights for the Trump Tower from [luxury retailer] Tiffany."

In the end, Donald and Ivana named their only daughter Ivanka, but Donald would go on to have another daughter, named Tiffany, with Maples.

Ivana Trump wrote a memoir entitled "Raising Trump." She said it was about her children and raising her kids, and his ex-husband had not read the book.

The former model added that Donald Trump was in the book as he was the father of her children. However, she said she "did not ask him for permission."

Ivana Trump's Other Marriages

In November 1971, Ivana Trump married her first husband, Alfred Winklmayr, in Prague when she was 22 years old, according to Page Six.

Winklmayr was a model and an Austrian ski instructor. He and Ivana were married for two years. Ivana's attorney noted in 1990 that the union was a "Cold War marriage" that was "never consummated."

Ivana reportedly only wanted freedom from Czechoslovakia's former communist regime when she married Winklmayr. After her marriage to Trump, Ivana married Italian businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli in November 1995. The international entrepreneur initially proposed a 10-carat diamond unsuccessfully.

He then presented her years later with a massive Burmese sapphire, which she accepted. The two divorced in 1997. After their divorce, Mazzucchelli told People that she loved Ivana "a lot," did his "very best," and "did for her more than Donald ever did."

Ivana later sued Mazzucchelli for $15 million for allegedly violating the confidentiality part of their prenuptial agreement. The Italian businessman died in 2017 at the age of 74.

Ivana's last marriage was to Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi. In 2007, the two married at Mar-a-Lago, a club and resort owned by Donald Trump.

The pair got divorced in 2009. Ivana attributed their separation to long distance, saying that Rubicondi spent a lot of time in Italy while she was in New York, Miami, and St. Tropez.

But even after their divorce, they continued to see each other until 2019. At that time, Ivana Trump said her relationship with Rossano "just ran its course. Rubicondi died at the age of 49 last November.
