Xochitl Gomez is not unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the entertainment industry as she has been working since she was five years old.

According to Al Dia News, Gomez is of Mexican descent and was born and raised in Los Angeles. She is an American by nationality and practices the Christian religion.

Gomez reportedly completed her early schooling at Sundance Institute in Park City, Utah. She also got professional training in acting from her trainer Anthony Mackie.

In an interview with People last May, Gomez said her mom would drive her around Los Angeles for hours every day after school and take her to auditions.

The 16-year-old actress noted that sometimes she would have four or five auditions a day, adding that she did that for a couple of years.

Xochitl Gomez went on to say that she discovered her love of singing and dancing when her mother put her in a musical theater class, and she loved it.

Xochitl Gomez became a part of "The Baby-Sitter Club's" cast in 2020, wherein she played Dawn Schafer, Fandom Wire reported.

The "Baby-Sitters Club" is based on a book series of the same name, telling the story of a group of young girls who started their own business through babysitting. It was released in 2020 on the video streaming platform Netflix.

In 2019, Gomez was in "Shadow Wolves," playing the role of Chucky. She won a Young Artist Award for Supporting Teen Artist for her role in the film.

"Shadow Wolves" is about NSA agents collaborating with a group of Native American trackers as they participate in missions championing justice.

In 2020, Xochitl Gomez played the lead character in the short film "The Lone Drone." It was a short Sci-fi film about a girl who had lost her father and found a strange drone in her backyard.

In the People interview, Xochitl Gomez acknowledged how she feels being part of the Marvel film. She said it was huge for her and "quite a responsibility" to enact a comic book character on screen.

Gomez also said there were many expectations from the character, America Chavez, who is a Latina and a queer. She further noted that she went over and over the material because she has dyslexia.

The Mexican descent actress got her first audition in February 2020, and she did not know what character she was going for as Marvel kept everything under wraps. She added that the studio has code names for all the characters.

Looper reported that Gomez's father helped her with some of her Marvel lines. The actress said she was very excited when she saw a few Spanish lines in the script.

She then shared the script with her father, who does not speak English. Xochitl Gomez said her father got excited when he realized that she will speak Spanish in the film.
