Meghan Markle Still Sharing Home With Canadian Ex-Boyfriend When She Went on First Date With Prince Harry
Meghan Markle was still living with her former Canadian boyfriend chef Cory Vitiello when she went on her first date with Prince Harry, according to a new book.
According to Newsweek, the sensational claim was from the book "Revenge: Harry, Meghan and the war between the Windsors" by Tom Bower, a biographer who has been vocal in his criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Vitiello was reportedly in a relationship with Markle from 2014 to 2016. Bower wrote that Markle was still living with her Canadian boyfriend when she was set up on a date with Prince Harry in London in 2016.
The British author said the relationship between Markle and Vitiello had ended by the time she left for a European visit in the summer of 2016. However, he noted that the Canadian society chef was still living in their shared home as they "discussed how to end their relationship."
In London, Markle and Harry were reportedly set up on a date by a Ralph Lauren's high-society publicist, who dressed the actress for two appearances at Wimbledon during her stay.
The British author identified the matchmaker as Violet von Westenholz, Prince Charles' close friend's daughter and Princes William and Harry's childhood playmate.
According to Bower, "in her empathetic manner," Markle "persuaded Violet" to arrange a blind date with Harry. After their first date on July 1, 2016, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly agreed to meet again.
The British author noted that two weeks after Markle and Harry's first date, the prince "secretly flew" to Toronto, Canada, and spent about a week at the home of Markle's friend, "probably Jessica Mulroney." At the time, Markle was still living with Vitiello.
"With Cory still sharing her home, the situation for Meghan was tricky but manageable," Bower said. The British author noted that the end of Markle's relationship with her Canadian boyfriend came after Harry's visit to Toronto came to an end.
"At the end of the week, after he [Harry] returned to London, Meghan was convinced that her spell was cast and the relationship with Harry would be sealed," Bower wrote.
"She [Markle] told Cory that their affair was over. Unaware of the circumstances, he was relieved. The final months had been unpleasant," the author added.

Prince Harry's Memoir Ghostwritten by Meghan Meghan?
According to Geo TV, a royal expert claimed that Prince Harry's upcoming autobiography is the words of Meghan Markle. Foreign policy analyst Nile Gardiner said the book will be "ghastly," adding that much of it was "probably ghostwritten by Meghan."
A publishing source told The Sun that the manuscript was finished, went through all the legal processes, and was out of Harry's hands.
Harry said the book will be his story, including the mistakes and lessons learned. He noted that it will be a story of his life that is "accurate and wholly truthful."
Royal author Christopher Andersen said the Prince of Wales' staff have been trying to find out for months what other bombshells will be uncovered, The Daily Beast reported.
Harry biographer Duncan Larcombe, a former royal editor at The Sun, noted that the uncertainty regarding the content of the book is preventing reconciliation between the two families.
Larcombe added that Prince William will have to decide what he will do about Prince Harry once the book is out by Christmas.
