Netflix on Thursday has dropped the official trailer of the NC-17 biopic film "Blonde" starring Cuban-Spanish star Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe.

The behemoth streamer uploaded the trailer for the film on YouTube, revealing some of the scenes in the upcoming film.

The trailer began in black and white cinematography of a man knocking on Monroe's door. Ana de Armas, who played Monroe, was then seen in front of the mirror, looking gorgeous in her blonde ringlets on her hair while giving a kiss to her reflection.

The trailer also showed Bobby Cannavale, who played baseball star Joe DiMaggio, dining with de Armas in the film. A clip showed DiMaggio asking Monroe how she started in showbiz, with the star revealing that she was discovered. Monroe, who is Norma Jean in real life, also looked sad as she shared that Marilyn Monroe is a character she has become sick of. The trailer then ended with Monroe saying: "Marilyn Monroe only exists on the screen."

The trailer uploaded by Netflix has gathered over 3.7 million views as of this writing since it was uploaded earlier today.

Netflix's 'Blonde': Marilyn Monroe Biopic Film

According to Variety, the movie "Blonde" tells the story of Marilyn Monroe, from her volatile childhood as Norma Jean through her rise to stardom as well as her romantic entanglements. The said film is based on the best-selling movie by Joyce Carol Oates.

Previously, de Armas told Netflix Queue about her experience in shooting Marilyn Monroe's biopic.

"We worked on this film for hours, every single day for almost a year... I read Joyce's novel, studied hundreds of photographs, videos, audio recordings, films - anything I could get my hands on," Ana de Armas said.

The Cuban actress also noted that every scene of "Blonde" was inspired by an existing photograph.

Netflix's "Blonde" will also enter a competition at the Venice Film Festival. Reports noted that Cannes Film Festival's chief, Thierry Fremaux, tried to slot Blonde in the 2022 lineup, but they were not able reach a compromise with the streaming behemoth.

Netflix has not returned to Cannes Film Festival since 2017 due to the festival's rule that all films must have a theatrical release in France.

Ana de Armas Shares Photos From the Set of Netflix's 'Blonde'

Yesterday, Ana De Armas took to Instagram to share photos and snippets of behind-the-scenes from the movie "Blonde."

One photo showed de Armas channeling Monroe, wearing a blue polka dot dress while holding flowers and looking away from the camera. Another photo showed de Armas working on the set of the Netflix film, while another picture showed the Cuban singer looking gorgeous in a hot pink gown.

De Armas said in the caption that it was "such a gift" to work with Bobby Cannavale and Adrien Brody in the film. The "Blonde" star added that she cannot wait for the people to see the "wonderful work" her leading men did in the Netflix film.

Netflix's "Blonde" will be released globally on September 28.
