Jennifer Lopez's First Husband, Ojani Noa, Is Not Convinced Ex-Wife's Wedding With Ben Affleck Will Last | Here's What He Says
Jennifer Lopez's first Husband, Ojani Noa, has revealed his thoughts about his ex-wife's recent marriage to Ben Affleck. Noa told the Daily Mail that he thinks Lopez and Affleck's marriage will not last the test of time.
"I wish her and Ben the best, but I'm not convinced it will last... "I think she's someone who will be married seven or eight times. I can't see her ever settling down with one person," Noa noted.
The Cuban actor and producer added that Lopez told him the same words she told Affleck that he was the "love of her life."
"When we lay in bed on our wedding night, she said we would be together forever," Ojani Noa said.
Jennifer Lopez's First Husband Ojani Noa Opens Up About Their Breakup
Jennifer Lopez and Ojani Noa were married in 1997 but decided to part ways in 1998. During his interview with the Daily Mail, Noa opened up about the real reason for their breakup after a year of being together.
Noa noted that the first crack in their relationship showed when the singer's mom, Guadalupe, berated Jennifer for not holding her wedding in the Bronx.
The couple decided to have the wedding in a friend's back garden on the water in Miami in February 1997. Lopez's first husband then noted that he called Guadalupe and told her that she needed to stop calling and yelling at Lopez to get her to change the venue. However, he said it created tension between them from then on.
Noa said Lopez began to change when she embarked on her stardom, citing that his ex-wife went from Jen to JLo, and when he called her, her assistant would say that "she's not available."
After their wedding, Noa was in charge of a Los Angeles nightclub, The Conga Room, which was co-owned by Lopez. Noa said that when Lopez went to New York to work on her album, he started seeing pictures of his ex-wife with rapper Sean Combs and P. Diddy.
He admitted he was jealous and confronted Lopez about it, but the Latina pop star argued that her dates with the musicians were "business."
Noa also shared that having kids was also a factor in their breakup. He said they discussed having kids, but Lopez said she could not have a child as a child would interfere with her career.
Ojani Noa and Jennifer Lopez met when he was still a waiter at Gloria Estefan's restaurant. However, he was also able to navigate the entertainment industry, as he worked as an actor and producer. Some of his notable works are "Vendetta: No Conscience," and "No Mercy."
Ben Affleck Is Jennifer Lopez's 4th Husband
Jennifer Lopez had been married to three men before she married Ben Affleck, to whom she was also previously engaged.
When Lopez and Noa separated, she married again in 2001 to Cris Judd. Their marriage lasted for two years. She then married singer Marc Anthony in 2004, her longest marriage lasting for 10 years.
Ben Affleck is now her fourth husband. Lopez's mom, Guadalupe, earlier said she always believed that Affleck was "the one" for her daughter.
"If Ben has Lupe onside then maybe he's got a chance," Ojani Noa said in his interview.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's wedding happened in a late-night Las Vegas drive-through chapel on July 16. The "Ain't Your Mama" singer confirmed their nuptials on her website and newsletter, "On the JLo" the following day.
