Aaron Rodgers Fires Back at Insensitive COVID-19 Question: 'I Don't Find That Part Funny'
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared pissed when he was asked a blunt question in connection to the COVID-19 vaccine.
In an interview with Barstool Sports Podcast's "Pardon My Take," Rodgers was asked by host Dan Katz, about how many people he thinks he killed after his decision to not get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Katz's co-host, Eric Sollenberger then specified the question about the number of grandmothers killed in the aftermath of his decision.
Rodgers appeared to smile but he shook his head and sighed after the question was thrown at him.
"I know you guys are f-king around, but I don't find that part funny," Rodgers underscored.
Other Criticism Aaron Rodgers Received After Not Getting the COVID Vaccine
Katz and Sollenberger were not the only ones who touched on the COVID-19 vaccination issue surrounding the Packers quarterback.
In December, President Joe Biden asked a Packers fan, wearing the team's uniform and cap, to tell Rodgers to get the vaccine.
Biden made his comments when he visited Kentucky last year following the deadly tornadoes in the state.
In January, the Packers quarterback responded to Biden's comment, blasting the president for his public speaking ability and for saying that the COVID-19 pandemic is the "pandemic of the unvaccinated."
Rodgers emphasized during that time that labeling the pandemic that way is not helping the conversation about people getting vaccinated.
Aaron Rodgers COVID-19 Vaccine Status
Aaron Rodgers made an uproar in November when news broke out that he was unvaccinated for COVID-19, despite claiming in August last year that he was "immunized" for the disease.
Rodgers maintained that even though he was not inoculated by CDC-approved vaccines, it was not misleading to claim that was immunized for the disease.
In an interview at "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers pointed out that he would stress that he is not a "flat-Earther" or an anti-vax, but instead a critical thinker, when has to follow up on his statement. He added that he strongly believes in bodily autonomy and the ability to make choices for one's body.
Aaron Rodgers also claimed that he was allergic to an ingredient in the mRNA vaccine, leaving him the option of only taking the Johnson and Johnson shot. However, he said that he was not comfortable taking the said vaccine because of its reported side effects.
Rodgers revealed that he decided to pursue an alternative "immunization protocol," which he petitioned NFL to be approved. However, the league still classified him in the unvaccinated category.
Aaron Rodgers was then fined $14,650 by NFL for breaking the protocols placed by the league. His team, Green Bay Packers, was also fined $300,000 for it.
