Michelle Branch was arrested after officers were called to their residence, shared with her husband Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney.

Billboard reported that they were to investigated a possible domestic disturbance.

Branch was arrested for misdemeanor domestic assault and was released on a $1,000 bond in the incident that seems to have occurred shortly before the 39-year-old singer announced her split with Carney.

Meanwhile, Branch accused the 42-year-old drummer of cheating on her in a now-deleted tweet.

The singer said in a statement that "the rug has been completely pulled underneath" her, adding that she is now figuring out how to move forward.

Branch then asked for privacy and kindness.

She admitted to slapping Carney in the face once or twice based on court documents. The drummer did not have any visible injuries and Branch was taken into custody.

Michelle Branch Arrested for Domestic Assault

The Davidson County Sheriff's Office confirmed to a Page Six report that Michelle Branch was released on Thursday after she posted bail.

The singer was originally ordered to be held for 12 hours but was then released as she was breastfeeding their 6-month-old infant.

Branch has a hearing scheduled for Nov. 7, 2022, to face her charge of domestic assault by offensive or provocative conduct.

The couple shares a son Rhys James, 4, and the 6-month-ols daughter, Willie.

The singer was previously married to Teddy Landau from 2004 to 2015 before she marries Carney in 2019.

U.S. Weekly noted that the couple met at a Grammy's party in 2015 and started dating while the singer was working on her album "Hopeless Romantic."

They then decided to move into Carney's home in Nashville in 2017. Branch brought along Owen Isabelle, her daughter from her first marriage.

People noted that Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney got married at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans in April 2019 in front of friends and family.

In late 2020, Branch revealed that she suffered a miscarriage.

After almost a year of her miscarriage, Branch announced that she was expecting her second child with Carney.

In February, she gave birth to their second child together named Willie Jacquet. Branch announced the birth of her second daughter on her Instagram account.

She added that Willie was named after Carney's grandmother Willie Madge and gave the child the singer's mother's maiden name.

Carney also talked about his daughter, saying that the baby had light blue eyes, which he described was weird because Branch and their son have dark brown eyes.

Carney added that his grandmother had the same eyes and that Branch was not sure about the name 15 minutes before the c-section.

Just this month, the couple announced the end of their relationship.
