Though there has been much hype and excitement surrounding the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII" movie, there are still some people that aren't as thrilled about it.

Last month, it was reported that original "Star Wars" cast member, Denis Lawson had turned down the opportunity to play the role of Wedge Antilles again in the upcoming "Star Wars" remake film.

According to U.K.'s The Courier, when asked about whether he'd be making an appearance in the Disney film, Lawson replied, "They asked me, but it just would have bored me."

Now, it appears that Lawson isn't the only one who turned down "Star Wars."

Apparently, Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg also shot down working on a film. But unlike Lawson, Cronenberg declined the opportunity to be a director for the film.

The Guardian reports that during his speech at the Province film festival, Cronenberg explained that he was less than thrilled when the "Star Wars" team called him to be apart of the film.

"I got a phone call once asking if I was interested in directing one of the Star Wars sequels," said the director of "Eastern Promises" and "Naked Lunch." "And instead of saying 'Oh my God, yes!' I said, 'Well, you know, I don't really do other people's material.' Click. I don't know how far it would have gone, but it ended there."

Cronenberg did not mention what specific "Star Wars" sequel he was offered to direct.

Despite "Star Wars'" failed attempts at bringing Lawson and Cronenberg on board, "Star Wars: Episode VII" will still undoubtedly have a star-studded cast and crew.

The Guardian reports that Tom Cruise recently met with JJ Abrams in London to shoot a cameo in the upcoming Episode VII.

In addition to Cruise, the film also stars Lupita Nyong'o, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow , Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker .

"Star Wars: Episode VII" premieres on Dec. 18, 2015. Will you be watching?
