Kim Kardashian has gone almost completely incognito ever since giving birth to her daughter North on Jun. 15, so much so that she even missed her sister Kylie's birthday party. She had a good reason, however, as Kardashian was seen with beau Kanye West attending his late grandfather's funeral this past Saturday.

"That's why they weren't at [sister] Kylie's birthday," a source told PEOPLE. "They brought North, too. Her first trip."

So far it has been nearly impossible to get a glimpse of Kardashian, who has been hiding from the cameras as she tends to her new baby. While she is undoubtedly busy with infant in tow, it is also likely that she has been avoiding the cameras as she works to shed the large amount of weight she gained during pregnancy. The Los Angeles Times confirms that theory:

"[Kardashian] has remained somewhat sequestered at her mother's Hidden Hills mansion since Nori's birth, while her place with West is being renovated (and perhaps to make a slim-down splash when she debuts her post-baby body). At the Saturday funeral, Kardashian dressed in black and was seen carrying their concealed 2-month-old daughter."

While Kim certainly wasn't back to her pre-baby figure, it was clear that she had already slimmed down quite a bit. Baby North West was in attendance, but cameras were unable to get a good shot of the baby. Kim and Kanye have yet to reveal what their baby looks like to the world.

Kim and Kanye's romance and subsequent pregnancy has been the target of much speculation and criticism ever since the beginning. Sadly, the funeral marked the loss of one of the celeb couple's biggest fans.

"She is beautiful -- and she's just as sweet as she is beautiful -- and that's what I liked about her! She was just down to earth. She's rich, and those kinds of people, they've got everything," said Kanye's grandfather Portwood Williams, Sr. about Kim earlier this year.
