'Legend of Korra' Third-Person Combat Game Coming This Fall to Xbox One, PS4, and PC
For those who couldn't believe more good news could come now that "The Legend of Korra" is just days away, there's something new to look forward to.
This fall you'll be able to be Korra in a new third-person combat game that's based on the show, according to IGN. The downloadable "Legend of Korra" game is being developed by Platinum Games and released by Activision. It will be available for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Tim Hendrick, who has worked for "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and "The Legend of Korra" as a writer, will be writing the story for the game, which will take place between book two and book three. Players will be able to use fire, earth, water and air, just as the Avatar can, to fight enemies you have probably already seen on the series, such as Chi Blockers, Mecha Tanks and other benders. Players will be able to participate in the three-on-three Pro-Bending competition.
For Nintendo users, there will be a turn-based strategy version developed by Webfoot Technologies for the Nintendo 3DS. This will also be released later this year, but it will "focus on tactically maneuvering Korra and her allies on the battlefield." The Platinum version will be much more fast paced and focus on combat.
The new series premieres on June 27, and Nickelodeon has put the first five minutes online.
The premiere episode will pick up after Korra leaves the spirit portals open.
According to IGN, the description for the first episode says: "After the events of Harmonic Convergence, Avatar Korra discovers that her decision to leave the spirit portals open has unexpected consequences. Wild spirit vines have overgrown Republic City and Airbenders are suddenly popping up across the four nations."
