Donald Trump's Surprise Washington D.C. Visit Sparks Arrest Rumors; Here's What the Ex-President Said
Former President Donald Trump was spotted making an unannounced Washington D.C. visit on Sunday, which sparked rumors that he was arrested.
According to Newsweek, a video showed Trump arriving at Dulles Airport in Virginia. It was posted online by freelance reporter Andrew Leyden. Trump was wearing golf shoes and a white polo top when he got out of a plane and headed into a vehicle.
The former president made no mention of him visiting Washington D.C. on a statement or Truth Social, the social media platform he frequently posts on. Some have speculated that the Republican leader may be in D.C. as he is due to be arrested by the Justice Department or that he may be visiting the Walter Reed hospital for health reasons.
Several people noticed that the former president was dressed in golf attire, which implied that the visit was not planned. Political commentator and Democratic National Committee member Lindy Li tweeted that if the theories of indictment hold true, "this would be perfect timing."
George Conway, lawyer and husband of former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, noted that Donald Trump was not in D.C. to play golf as it has not exactly been "golf weather here."

Donald Trump's Surprise Visit to Washington D.C.
Donald Trump said his unannounced visit to Washington D.C. was a "working trip." He wrote on his Truth Social account Monday morning that his arrival in D.C. was a "working trip" and that he would be doing so from his Trump National Golf Club Washington D.C., according to the Independent.
To stamp out speculation about his activities, the former president said: "Working today at Trump Washington DC on the Potomac River. What an incredible place!"
Trump did not have any scheduled events in D.C. in the coming days. Former Republican and attorney Ron Filipkowski tweeted that he keeps "pretty close tabs" on the former president's schedule and events, and he was unaware of "any in the D.C. area tomorrow."
Donald Trump is currently the subject of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after they retrieved classified and top-secret documents from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
Donald Trump Legal Challenges
According to CBS News sources, more than 30 people linked to Donald Trump and alleged efforts to alter the 2020 election results have received federal grand jury subpoenas.
The Department of Justice is looking into the roots of the January 6 Capitol riot and other alleged attempts to stop the transfer of power to President Joe Biden.
The department is investigating how money was raised and spent on alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election, including efforts to submit fake "alternate" electors to Congress from states lost by Trump and the "Stop The Steal" rally held in the Ellipse, near White House grounds, before the Capitol riot.
It is also probing whether there is a potential mishandling of presidential and classified records retrieved from Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence. The outlet confirmed that close Trump aide Will Russel received a subpoena by email last week.
It was also reported that former White House senior aides Stephen Miller and Brian Jack also received subpoenas. Sources noted that the FBI agents served the subpoenas last Wednesday and Thursday.
