The Dominican Republic is among the top kiteboarding destinations on earth. Its warm climate, abundance of natural coastlines, and gentle winds make it a perfect destination for those who love kiteboarding.

The sport is popular in Cabarete, arguably one of the most well-known kiteboarding destinations in the country and the rest of the world. When the winds pick up, you will know there is a rush to the beach as kiteboarders from all over the world show off their skills.

Whale Watching

One of the better ways to celebrate the natural wonder of the Dominican Republic is through whale watching. The country is known as a migratory path for thousands of humpback whales, who stop by the tropical waters of the country every December. The whales visit Semana Bay in particular to mate and give birth. Thus, it means that it's not just tourists who are attracted to the area but also plenty of marine biologists.

While much of the activities in the Dominican Republic revolve around the beach or the sea, this final one will be a bit more on the dry side as it takes place in Santo Domingo, near the site where Christopher Columbus first set foot in the Americas.

Along the Zona Colonial, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes, and visitors can take in some nice Colonial era vibes. The atmosphere around the area takes us back in time, and the food is quite delicious, too, with outdoor dining being popular around the area.
