Joe Biden Mistakenly Calls Out Dead Indiana Lawmaker at White House Conference as if She Were There in Latest Gaffe
President Joe Biden has once again committed a gaffe after calling out for the late Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski during remarks at a White House conference on Wednesday.
According to CNN, Biden was speaking at the White House conference on hunger, nutrition, and health, when he tried to acknowledge the presence of Walorski, who died in a car accident in August.
"Jackie, are you here? Where's Jackie? I think she wasn't going to be here - to help make this a reality," Biden said as he looked out into the audience and appeared to forget why Walorski was absent.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre Defended Joe Biden on His Latest Gaffe
According to US News, the gaffe has raised a more serious concern for 79-year-old Joe Biden: Did the President misspeak at the time? Or had he forgotten that a woman whose family he will see this week to honor her had passed away?
The White House did not acknowledge that Biden had misspoken and sought to play off the strange moment by saying that Jackie Walorski was only on top of his mind as the President named the hunger conference's congressional champions.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden will meet with Walorski's family on Friday at a signing of bill event where a VA clinic in Mishawaka, Indiana, will be named after her.
"There will be a bill signing in her honor this coming Friday, so, of course, she was on his mind," said Jean-Pierre.
"She was top of mind for the President... That is what he was thinking of. He was thinking about her," she added.
Jean-Pierre noted that it was not as though it occurred out of context. She said it happened at an event where Biden was calling out the congressional champions, who are committed to the issue of hunger.
Reports said Walorski, a Republican, helped organize the event. She also made fighting hunger and malnutrition a part of her work during her time in Congress.
Republicans React to Joe Biden Gaffe
According to The Hill, many Republicans had used Joe Biden's gaffe to imply that he has lost his stride and is not mentally suited for the position.
"I guess Biden forgot he issued this statement unless he didn't actually issue this statement!?!" Donald Trump Jr. tweeted, referencing the statement from the president in the wake of Walorski's death.
Another tweet from a conservative group, Tea Party Patriots, said that Biden was "not mentally fit" to serve as president.
Biden has often fought against claims that he was not fit for office by pointing to his busy schedule and his ability to handle the challenges and responsibilities of his everyday job.
In a recent interview with "60 Minutes," Joe Biden said: "If you think I don't have the energy level or the mental acuity, then, you know, that's one thing. It's another thing, you just watch and, you know, keep my schedule. Do what I'm doing."
