Sussex couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly categorized as "D-listers" and "poor" when measured by Hollywood standards, according to royal biographer Tina Brown.

Brown has commented about Markle's house-hunting and said that they live in a "humble cottage," and that the Duchess of Sussex is eyeing to procure another home that is "far less opulent," according to MARCA.

Brown compared their Montecito home in California, a $14 million mansion, to those owned by other "A-listers" such as Oprah Winfrey or Elon Musk.

The royal biographer said that the Sussex couple's estimated net worth is about $22 million, which is "Hollywood poor" compared to Jay-Z and Beyonce, with a net worth above $1.4 billion. Brown also cited Ellen DeGeneres, who has an estimated net worth of $500 million.

Tina Brown also jokingly said that "Elon Musk is still single" if Meghan Markle is eyeing to "trade up." The royal biographer noted that Markle may be looking for more than a new house at some point, The Telegraph reported.

Brown, the former editor of Tatler, Vanity Fair, and the New Yorker, said at a Henley Literary Festival that it was not very pleasant for Harry and Markle "to be a D-list celebrity who, for them, doesn't have enough money."

She added that it was a different game "to be with those super-rich people." Brown spoke to many people closely connected with the royal family for her latest book, The Palace Papers.

Brown was one of the last people to see Princess Diana before her death at a lunch in New York In 1997. She noted that if the Princess of Wales was still alive, she would have advised her son to return to the royal family.

Brown said the princess was "very pragmatic," and would have told Harry that "this isn't going anywhere." She also talked about how Prince Harry's memoir may never see the light of day, saying there would be no way for Harry to return if the book pushes forward.

Prince Harry Memoir

The memoir of Prince Harry has been announced to be released in autumn. However, Harry reportedly asked to make some significant edits to his biography. A source noted that Harry "is keen for refinements in the light of the Queen's death," Daily Mail reported.

The insider said there may be things in the book which might not look "so good" once they are released so soon after the death of the queen, her funeral, and his father, King Charles III, taking the throne.

Jeffrey Archer, a best-selling author, said the prince is currently writing a new chapter that would cover his grandmother's death and the events leading up to her funeral.

It was reported that publishing company Penguin Random House had requested a rewrite after it seemed that the first draft was "too touchy-feely" and focused more on mental health issues.
