Ohio Police Shot, Killed Homicide Suspect in Fairfield Township
Ohio police shot and killed a homicide suspect following a confrontation in Fairfield Township Saturday night.
At around 7 p.m., police were called to a Marathon gas station on Fairgrove Avenue for an automobile accident that later developed into a violent assault, WLWT5 reported.
When medics and officers arrived at the scene, a person was found dead from a gunshot wound. The suspect who shot the victim drove away from the scene. The Fairfield Township Police Department later found him in Fairfield Township on Morris Road.
Police claimed that the suspect was seen leaving that area quickly. At that point, the Hamilton Police Department officers came to help find the culprit. Two Hamilton Police officers located the suspect in the 6400 block of Tara Brooke Court one hour after the incident on Fairgrove Avenue.

Homicide Suspect Pulls a Gun, Ohio Police Say
Police in Hamilton said the suspect "produced a handgun which prompted both officers to discharge their firearms." After the suspect was shot, police treated him and took him to UC West Chester Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to US News, the Hamilton police handle the first homicide case, while the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is looking into the police shooting. The identities of both men will be made public by the Butler County coroner's office after their relatives have been notified, according to police.
Hamilton Police Chief Craig Bucheit said numerous investigations are ongoing regarding both crimes. Bucheit noted that there were no other suspects connected to the earlier homicide.
"It is still very early, and there's a lot of work left to do... From what I have seen, the officers followed their training, used good tactics and acted to keep a very dangerous suspect from hurting anyone else," Bucheit said.
Butler County Sheriff's Office Releases 911 Calls About Ohio Police Shooting
At first, the police thought this was a car accident, but it turned out to be a violent attack at the Marathon gas station. Authorities noted that before the police arrived at the scene, officers discovered that the suspect got out of the car and shot multiple rounds before fleeing.
"They come out of Marathon, and they spun, they hit another car, and the guy has got a gun on him," said 911 caller Jeff Black.
Police found that the altercation turned into a shooting that left one person dead on the road. Black said the suspect threw the body out. Black noted that he called 911 when the suspect fled, so he followed him, Fox 19 reported.
"By the time I got there, he pretty much had it [the body] out, but the foot was still hanging in the driver's side door and I saw him just put, drop it on the ground," Black said.
Black kept talking to 911, updating them on the suspect's vehicle and whereabouts until the police found him in Fairfield Township. According to Butler County Prosecutor Michael Gmoser, as is customary in all such cases, he would present the findings of the state inquiry to a county grand jury.
