Telemundo's 'Los Miserables,' Starring Aracely Arámbula, Starts Filming in Miami
Telemundo has started work on its next telenovela "Los Miserables."
The show, which is based off of Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables," stars Aracely Arámbula, Erik Hayser, Aylin Mujica and Aaron Diaz. The show was written by Valentina Párraga, and it is set in modern times.
"Set in modern times, 'Los Miserables' is a melodrama about the life of an innocent woman hounded by the law who must use all her cunning to fight back, hide and prove her integrity to her pursuer, who is also the man she loves," according to a press release by Telemundo.
A short video shows Arámbula in a nightclub setting, where she is urged to sing. The beautiful singer makes her way on to the stage, and the man she loves looks on. He eventually arrests her. She tells him that she swears on her love for him that she is innocent. She also says she will prove it.
Arámbula plays the lead character Lucia "Lucha" Duran. She is released from a Texas jail after serving 11 years for a crime she didn't commit. When she is released from jail, her family does not want anything to do with her.
On top of that, she is also determined to win the love of the man who is after her. He wants to destroy her.
"Erik Hayser co-stars in this mega production as chief detective Daniel Ponce, who has it in his power to make Luchas's life heaven or hell as he wishes," the press release said.
Aylin Mujica plays villain Claudia Duran, who seems to be the one who places the blame on Lucha. And Aaron Diaz will play Cesar Mondragon, a lawyer.
"Los Miserables" is being filmed in Miami by Argos Television. Carlos Villegas is directing the show, and Martha Godoy is the executive producer.
