Is Kanye West Still a Billionaire? Ye's Net Worth Drops to Just $400 Million Now | Here's Why

Kanye West, a rapper-turned-fashion mogul, recently challenged Adidas to fire him after making many antisemitic comments on social media and national media for weeks.

"I can say antisemitic s-- and Adidas cannot drop me," said West earlier this month on the Drink Champs podcast.

He thought he was untouchable after working with Adidas since 2013 on his insanely priced and famous Yeezy shoe line.

Investment firm Cowen says that 4% and 8% of all Adidas sales come from Yeezy items. Forbes noted that it added $1.5 billion to his net worth, which is even more important for West.

West's rants, however, put the German athletic wear company in the hot seat as it has ties to the Nazis that go back to its founders.

As West's run of antisemitic comments earned condemnation from Hollywood's elite, pressure on Adidas to cut ties with him increased.

On October 6, Adidas announced that their partnership with West, who also goes by the name "Ye," was "under review" after several weeks of being silent.

Then on October 25, Adidas finally ended its partnership with the rapper.

This action will cost them a lot, but Ye will suffer a lot more because he will immediately be kicked out of the billionaire ranks.

Adidas stated in a press release that it does not tolerate antisemitism and any other hate speech. West's recent comments and actions were unacceptable, dangerous, and hateful, violating the company's values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness.

"After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect."

Because of this, Ye's net worth dropped; he is no longer a billionaire.

Is Kanye West Cancelled?

Even though many companies have cut ties with the rapper because of his controversial rants, West's fans may not have yet stopped him from making appearances.

According to The Things, Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, said Vogue have cut him out of their inner circle, and Balenciaga has said that they will no longer work with him in the future.

In writing, West's bank, J.P. Morgan, told him they would no longer do business together. They gave him until November to find a new bank to house his billion-dollar Yeezy business.

Also, he was dropped by CAA, a Hollywood talent agency.

West is reportedly trying to buy Parler, a conservative social media site, even though he has been banned from Instagram and Twitter for making rude comments and bullying people.

So, West might be back online before his fans even know it. But many people would agree that Kanye should be dropped immediately because of his long history of bad behavior.

Skechers Kicks Kanye West Out of Their Office

One day after Adidas ended its lucrative partnership with the rapper, West unexpectedly showed up at Skechers' corporate headquarters in Manhattan Beach, California, on Wednesday.

In a statement, Skechers stated that it has no plans to work with West, Yahoo reported.

"Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech," a rep for Skechers tells Yahoo Entertainment. "The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices."

After a short conversation, the spokesman says that two Skechers executives led West and his group out of the building because West was "engaged in unauthorized filming."
