In a statement, the Lewisville police said dispatchers received a call at around 5:30 a.m. Authorities noted that the woman on the 911 call could be heard arguing with a man.
The woman reportedly told dispatchers that her marriage to the man she was arguing with had recently ended. Police said multiple gunshots were heard on the 911 call before the call went silent.
When officers arrived on the scene at the 200 block of East Farm Market 3040 in Lewisville, they found a man's and a woman's bodies in the parking lot.

Murder-Suicide Rates in the United States
Murder-suicides are a common form of gun violence in the United States, with around 11 incidents each week being reported. A Violence Policy Center research found that more than 1,200 Americans die in murder-suicides each year.
The research also showed that nine out of 10 murder-suicides involved a gun. It said an intimate partner of the shooter is among the victims in nearly two-thirds of all murder-suicides.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) noted that about 24,292 people died committing firearm suicides in 2020.
According to CDC, more Americans died of gun-related injuries in 2020 than in any other year on record. However, despite the increase in fatalities, the rate of gun deaths remains below the levels of earlier years.
The CDC reported that 45,222 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S. in 2020. That number included gun murders and gun suicides.
According to Pew Research, 54% of all gun-related deaths in the U.S. in 2020 were suicides, while 43% were murdered. The remaining number were unintentional, involved law enforcement, and had undetermined circumstances.
