A Minnesota dad was arrested for allegedly killing his daughter's abusive boyfriend in a storage locker and burying him in a makeshift grave.

According to Law&Crime, Michael Lee Laflex, 45, was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with one count of second-degree murder for killing Bryce Brogle, 23.

A criminal complaint revealed that Cordelia Laflex, the Minnesota dad's daughter, called the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office on October 28 and reported that her boyfriend disappeared after going with her father to a storage unit he had rented two days earlier.

Investigators talked to Laflex, who allegedly told them that Brogle was arrested "by unknown law enforcement" and took his two phones.

However, the complaint said the Minnesota dad later changed his story and told police that he had thrown away both of Brogle's phones at a Brainerd gas station.

Police eventually recovered both phones. They also found blood and bleach on the storage unit's concrete floor and drag marks.

Minnesota Police Get a Tip From an Anonymous 'Concerned Citizen'

Authorities said they received a tip from an unnamed "concerned citizen" who claimed that the older Laflex had confessed to shooting Bryce Brogle at the storage facility. Michael Lee Laflex allegedly told a relative that he believed Brogle was an abusive boyfriend to his daughter.

According to a family relative, the Minnesota dad also admitted to disposing of the body somewhere that "would not be found."

He reportedly claimed to have called Brogle's landlord and inquired whether he had harmed his daughter. The landlord informed him that she had two black eyes.

Authorities said Laflex told the landlord he would kill Brogle and bury him in a hole he had "already dug," Yahoo reported. Police started a foot search for Brogle's remains on public property in Crow Wing County on October 30 and discovered a likely grave location.

"The site was excavated, and a body with an apparent gunshot wound to the back of the head was recovered and transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy," the complaint stated.

It added that "the autopsy determined the cause of death to be a distant gunshot wound to the back of the head. The body has been identified as Bryce Brogle."

The Minnesota dad is being held in the Crow Wing County Jail on an unconditional bail of $2 million. He appeared for his arraignment Thursday and is scheduled for a court hearing on November 15.

Minnesota Dad Has a Previous Case

According to Brainerd Police Department's arrest records, this is not Michael Lee Laflex's first run-in with the law. He pleaded guilty to charges of criminal sexual conduct in September 2018 after being accused of having sexual relations with a vulnerable adult with developmental difficulties.

According to New York Post, the victim, who is said to be "mentally impaired," is said to have refused to have sex with Laflex at first but later "agreed...at [his] insistence." His September 2018 trial was canceled after the judge ordered a stay of adjudication.
