Aaron Carter Death: Nick Carter Finally Breaks His Silence on Brother's Tragic Passing
Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter finally broke his silence about the death of his younger brother, Aaron Carter.
On his Instagram account, Nick said that despite having a complicated relationship with his 34-year-old brother, his "love for him has never ever faded."
"I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed," he wrote in a caption alongside photos of him with Aaron.
He noted that while people want to blame "someone or something for a loss," the real villains are addiction and mental illness. The 90s boyband member said he will miss Aaron "more than anyone will ever know."
"Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth... I love you baby brother," Nick added.
On the other hand, Aaron's twin sister, Angel Carter, wrote on Instagram, "To my twin... I loved you beyond measure. You will be missed dearly."
Aaron Carter Found Dead on Saturday Inside His Home
Aaron Carter is best known for his early 2000's hits, breaking through to the music industry as a pre-teen. He was best known for songs like "Crazy Little Party Girl," "I Want Candy," "Crush on You," "Summertime," and "That's How I Beat Shaq."
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson told CNN that they responded to a call for help at around 11 a.m. on Saturday in Lancaster, California, where Aaron lived. A housekeeper reportedly found his body inside of a bathtub.
Police then found a deceased person who was later identified as the early 2000s teen sensation. No cause of death has been released at this time.
Aaron Carter's Problems and Downward Spiral
After his heyday, which was mostly his teenage years, Aaron Carter spiraled with plenty of legal issues and substance abuse, according to TMZ.
He even appeared in "The Doctors" in an infamous episode where he talked about all the pills he was taking. He was also sent to rehab multiple times.
He also had a very complicated relationship with his siblings, especially Nick Carter and Angel Carter, whom each filed restraining orders against Aaron.
The Backstreet Boy even released a statement saying that Aaron had "intentions of killing my wife and unborn child." However, his younger brother denied these allegations.
Aaron also battled mental issues, including multiple personality disorder, Schizophrenia, acute anxiety, and mental depression. During his heyday, Aaron made many friends, including Hilary Duff, who was the star of Disney Channel's "Lizzie McGuire," which he frequently appeared in as a guest star.
Hilary and former Nickelodeon star Melissa Joan Hart posted tributes for the late singer, rapper, and actor.
Hilary, who dated Aaron when they were teenagers, said: "I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in-front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent... boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy."
Posting a photo of herself with Carter, Melissa wrote as caption: "Sending love to the family and friends and fans of #AaronCarter. Rest In Peace!"
