The Internal Revenue Service announced in mid-October that stimulus payments will be distributed to those people who are owed the payment scheme, the Earned Income Tax Credit, or the Child Tax Credit.

More than nine million individuals and families may qualify for the tax benefits, but may have not yet filed a 2021 federal tax income.

IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig noted in an October statement that the agency wanted to remind possibly eligible people that they may qualify for the valuable tax credits.

The IRS Free File tool will stay open until November 17 for people needing to file 2021 tax returns. It allows people with incomes of $73,000 or less to file their returns for free.

The stimulus checks payments are worth $1,400 per person, while child tax credits amount to $3,600, and an earned income tax credit worth $1,502 will be worth for eligible workers with no children.

Stimulus Check November 17 Deadline

People can still visit GetCTC.org through Nov. 15, 2022, to get their third stimulus checks while they can use IRS Free File through Nov.17, 2022, to claim other tax credits with the third stimulus checks.

All dependents qualify for the third stimulus check, which would mean that for each child or adult dependent an eligible household has, they can claim an additional $1,400.

It was different from the first and second stimulus checks as it only allowed child dependents under age 17 to get the additional payment.

The third stimulus check maximum income limit for single filers is $80,000; $160,000 for married filing jointly; and $120,000 for the head of household.

To get your stimulus check, you must also have filed a tax return for the tax year 2019 or 2020; you are a Social Security recipient; a Supplemental Security Insurance recipient; or a Veterans Affairs beneficiary.

Once falling into those qualifications, the IRS will automatically send your stimulus check payments.

Eligible recipients can also check the status of their third stimulus check by using the IRS Get My Payment tool.

Those who are set to receive their third stimulus check can see whether their payment type is direct deposit or mail.

Child Tax Credit

The deadline for claiming the child tax credit money is on November 15; people can still fill out a simplified tax return to claim their missing stimulus or child tax credit check.

Child Tax Credits are aimed to give an income boost to the parents or guardians of children and other dependents.

The American Rescue Plan temporarily increased the child tax credit to help filers cope financially with the pandemic.

The expanded child tax credit applies to dependents who are 17 or younger as of the last day of the tax year.

Qualifying families will no longer get advanced credit payments in 2022, meaning taxpayers will get the credit when they file the return in 2023.

IRS started sending monthly child tax credit payments on the 15th of every month.

Child tax credit payments could be delayed depending on the disbursement method.
