Christina Applegate Receives Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in First Public Appearance Since Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis
Christina Applegate got her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Monday, just a few days after saying her role on "Dead to Me" might be her last because of her disease.
Applegate was not seen in public since August 2021, when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. According to Fox News, she wore black nail polish with the letters "fu MS" written on each finger to mark the event.
During her speech, Applegate thanked all the agents who have worked with her for the past 28 years. She was proud that they had worked together for so long, which is unusual in the business world.
She said her mother used to say that switching agents is like changing deck chairs on the Titanic, but she stuck with them, so if something goes wrong, they are all "going down" together.
Applegate also started to cry as she thanked her friends and family, especially her daughter, whom she said was "the most important" person in her life.
She thanked her daughter Sadie for always being with her before making a joke about her MS.
"Oh, by the way, I have a disease. Did you not notice? I'm not even wearing shoes!" Applegate quipped.

After a presenter at the event proclaimed November 14 as "Christina Applegate Day" in Hollywood, she stood in front of a podium to make a statement, People reported.
Applegate began her speech by joking that Sagal, 68, was there to "steal the thunder" while standing behind her to offer physical and moral support.
"I've had a really interesting life, but the life started as a little girl waiting in line to see the first Star Wars on this very street at that very theater. And looking at these things [the stars] and going, 'Who are these people? What are these things? Did they do something right? Did they do something wrong? Whatever it is, I want one. I effing want one," she said.
Applegate added, "I was five years old, so this day means more to me than you can imagine."
