Florida: Father of Pregnant Mom Shot and Killed in Car Condemns ‘Senseless’ Killing
Police found a Florida woman dead inside her car. She was identified as 18-year-old Kaylin Fiengo. The Sanford Police Department noted that she is 13 weeks pregnant and was shot and killed.
Her body was found in her car's driver seat when police were patrolling the Coastline Park area at 11:20 p.m. on November 11. Based on the initial investigation, she went there "with the intent to meet a person known to her."
According to Fox News, the incident appears to be an isolated case, and the police have not yet released any additional information as of writing. Fiengo leaves behind a one-year-old son.
Parents of Florida Woman Killed Inside Her Car Speak Up
Following the news of her death, Ricky Fiengo, the father of the victim, talked with News 6 Click to Orlando. He described his daughter as "a mother and a happy girl who likes to joke around" and an overall fun-loving and happy person.
He implored the public to speak up if they know any information surrounding her killing.
"I just want people, if they know something, to say something," Fiengo said.
He said her shooting was senseless and added that he needed some closure. He stated that the person who shot and killed his daughter must get caught and dealt with so he can "close that part and start another part of the healing process."
Ricky Fiengo also spoke with WESH-2 and told them that he believes his daughter was targeted, and he is feeling it deep down. Her one-year-old son was staying with him around the time she was killed.
The victim's mother, Sarah, also spoke up and stated that Kaylin's death has created an empty hole in her heart that may never heal. She added that her death was a "tremendous loss for many."
In her statement to the media. Sarah described her daughter as a "very vivacious, loving, funny, and caring young woman" who loved her son immensely, as well as a "loving big sister to her brother Blaze, sisters Addy and Aubrey."
Sanford Police Condemns Killing of Pregnant Florida Mother
Sanford police chief Cecil Smith told the press that Kaylin Fiengo's death was senseless and infuriating as the victim was a "young mother who had her whole life ahead of her."
The Florida police chief then added that this sort of violence and destruction would not be tolerated in their community, and he is confident that their residents will work with them to find the person responsible for killing her.
