New details on the death of American tourist Shanquella Robinson in Mexico emerged as a police report said she was still alive when medical help first arrived on the vacation home in San Jose del Cabo where she and her friends were staying at.

According to Charlotte Observer, the young North Carolina woman was still alive when a medical doctor came, and they even tried to revive her. This new report differed from what was written on her death certificate, which said she died 15 minutes after she was injured.

The police report noted that a doctor from a local hospital was with the 25-year-old American tourist and others in the house for close to three hours before she was pronounced dead.

However, the report did not mention obvious signs of Robinson's physical injuries, which her family said existed on her body before her burial last weekend.

The Mexican Secretariat of Health's death certificate revealed that she died from grave injuries to her back and neck or a "severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation," which means her first vertebra became loosened or detached from the base of her skull.

The police report further complicates the matter as it noted that Robinson also suffered cardiac arrest prior to her death.

Mexican authorities earlier said the American tourist died from alcohol poisoning and even claimed that no foul play was involved, and her friends are backing this up. Both the FBI and Mexican authorities are now investigating her death, according to The Daily Mail.

New Video of American Tourist Shanquella Robinson in a Resort in Mexico Surfaces

In a new video that surfaced recently, Shanquella Robinson was seen enjoying herself in a resort in San Jose del Cabo. She was seen upbeat, playfully joking and laughing with her friends just hours before she died.

According to RadarOnline, this video was taken inside their Fundadores Beach Club villa.

"It don't take that long to get naked. Where y'all at?' Robinson quipped in the video of her walking around the resort.

The American tourist later found the group in the Villa Linda 32 room as they discussed which swimsuits to wear. The video was posted on The Neighborhood Talk account on Instagram, which sparked a debate in the comments section.

Previous Video Showed American Tourist Shanquella Robinson Being Beaten up

The new video was in contrast to the previous video that showed that the American tourist got into a violent fight with another woman inside a hotel room.

Someone can also be heard in the video telling "Quella" to fight back. This further makes the events surrounding her death even more mysterious.

Shanquella Robinson went to San Jose del Cabo with six friends on October 28. The next day, one of Robinson's friends called her mom and said a doctor was coming to the private villa they were staying at.

Bernard and Salamondra Robinson told KPLCTV that when their daughter's friends called them, they said she died while waiting for a doctor.

They said her friends also told them she had alcohol poisoning even though the doctor had not arrived yet. However, Robinson's parents were not buying this story.

Her parents had already contacted the FBI's Charlotte branch to help solve the mystery surrounding their daughter's death. They also said they were considering hiring a private investigator.
