Prince Andrew 'Furious' at Losing £3 Million Tax-Funded Bodyguards After Jeffrey Epstein Scandal
Prince Andrew is reportedly furious over losing his tax-funded bodyguards, which are nearly worth £3 million a year.
The Duke of York was told about the new developments in his security situation by ministers, saying that he will lose his tax-funded police protection starting next month.
The change in his security detail comes after King Charles was reported to be distancing himself from his brother, who had been involved in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
King Charles was also believed to be keeping Prince Andrew out of the public eye.
Andrew is reportedly dissatisfied with the new changes and may attempt to fight against the decision to remove his tax-funded bodyguards, who usually escort him whenever he leaves the royal estates in Windsor.
One former armed protection officer who served the Royal Family for six years, Paul Page, described Andrew as a "horrible little man." He said the Duke of York has questions to answer regarding his friendship with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now a convicted sex trafficker.

Prince Andrew's Tax-Funded Bodyguards
One source told The Sun that Andrew will be writing to "the Home Office and the Met Police to complain about losing his taxpayer-funded security."
One senior Labour MP noted that Andrew does not seem to understand that he is in disgrace and "people don't want to hear from him anymore," particularly about him with "his begging bowl."
The Labour MP went on to say that he knows that Andrew has a title. However, it does not mean that the duke is "entitled to taxpayer-funded protection."
The same person added that he knows families who do not know if they will be able to buy Christmas presents for their children this year.
Andrew was earlier stripped of the title "His Royal Highness," as well as his military honors after a showdown meeting with the late Queen Elizabeth.
Ever since the Epstein scandal, Andrew has not been part of any official public duties and has been occasionally seen out horse riding.
He has tried to return to public life, but his efforts were thwarted by King Charles and Prince William, both fearing that Andrew's return would bring a crisis to the monarchy.
Prince Andrew Connected to Jeffrey Epstein Scandal
In January, it was reported that Andrew was set to face a civil case in the United States over allegations that he sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre when she was 17.
Meanwhile, the prince consistently denied the claims against him, and Buckingham Palace refused to comment on an ongoing legal issue.
Andrew said in an interview with BBC in 2019 that he had no recollection of meeting Giuffre. He added that her story of their sex in the United States and the United Kingdom "didn't happen." He also said that he was introduced to Epstein in 1999 by Maxwell, who was Epstein's ex-girlfriend.
The Duke of York eventually paid a £ 7 million out-of-court settlement with Giuffre after she agreed to drop the case against him.
