Prince William, Kate Middleton Will Not See Prince Harry and Meghan Markle During U.S. Trip but Joe Biden Will Greet Them in Boston
Prince William and Kate Middleton will reportedly not meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their visit to the United States. It's the royal couple's first visit to the U.S. since they spent three days in New York eight years ago.
A source close to the couple told ET that the Prince and Princess of Wales have "no plans" to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their three-day trip in Boston.
Harry and Meghan have made the U.S. their home since stepping back as working royals in March 2020. They moved to California. William and Kate arrived in Boston Wednesday afternoon and are said to be focused on the 2022 Earthshot Prize Awards.
The Princess of Wales will reportedly introduce one of this year's Earthshot Prize winners, while the Prince of Wales will speak during the awards ceremony in Boston on Friday. On the other hand, Harry and Megan will visit New York next week to receive the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award on December 6.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are honored for their efforts regarding mental health, racial justice, and other social impact responses. Aside from the couple, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also being recognized.
The reports that the two royal couples won't meet in the U.S. came weeks after royal expert Katie Nicholl talked about the ongoing rift between the brothers.
In her October interview with ET, Nicholl said: "Everyone wants to see a repair in the rift because it doesn't do anyone any good to have this rift in the heart of the House of Windsor... [but] William simply cannot forgive Harry."
She noted that it was "not just for leaving" but for how Harry left when the Sussex couple decided to stop serving as senior members of the royal family. Prince William and his younger brother, Prince Harry, did see each other in England after Queen Elizabeth II died in September.
However, reporters said the rift between them has deepened over the years, especially after Harry and Megan criticized the royal family for racism and insensitivity towards the "Suits" actress during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

President Joe Biden to Meet Prince William and Kate Middleton in Boston
The White House confirmed Wednesday that President Joe Biden will meet with the Prince and Princess of Wales while they are all in Boston on Friday.
In a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre noted that "Biden intends to greet" Prince William and Kate Middleton "when he is in Boston."
Jean-Pierre said they are still finalizing and working through the details and had nothing else to share with the media at the moment.
The awards ceremony in Boston Friday will mark the first time the Earthshot Prize has traveled to the U.S. since the Prince of Wales and The Royal Foundation launched it two years ago.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson told CNN that the royal couple was eager for more time in Boston to get to know communities and learn about the coastal city's climate-related problems.
Prince William and Kate Middleton Watched Boston Celtics Game
Prince William and Kate Middleton were seen attending a Boston Celtics game against Miami Heat in downtown Boston. People reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at the TD Garden on Wednesday night to watch the Boston Celtics game against the Miami Heat.
William and Kate sat courtside with former professional basketball player and Massachusetts Governor-Elect Maura Healey, the team's two principal owners, and Celtics legend Thomas "Satch" Sanders. The royal couple chatted with those seated next to them and clapped throughout the game, which the Celtics won.
Aside from watching the game, William and Kate also met members of the Celtics family, which included representatives of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. The foundation provides grassroots programming and strategic funding to local organizations.
It was not the first time Prince William and Kate Middleton watched an NBA game. They watched the Brooklyn Nets game against Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 when they visited New York City.
