After a nail-biting final, Lionel Messi has led Argentina to its first World Cup since 1986, and NBA superstar LeBron James took to Twitter with a GOAT message for Messi.

James also praised Messi's opponent and Paris Saint-Germaine teammate, Kylian Mbappe, for scoring two goals in 93 seconds to tie the game at 2-2.

Mbappe was on fire during that match, but his efforts came short as Argentina defeated France on penalties. He scored all three French goals plus one penalty, but Argentina was better that night. Argentina dominated the match for around 80 minutes, according to Clutch Points.

Thanks to Messi Magic and the Angel of Argentina himself, Angel Di Maria. However, Mbappe managed to close that 2-goal deficit in a short amount of time, forcing the game to go into extra time, where Messi and Mbappe showed why they are the best.

Argentina President Alberto Fernandez Trash-Talked French President Emmanuel Macron

Alberto Fernandez is known to be a very diplomatic president for Argentina, showing support for Ukraine when he talked to President Volodymir Zelensky while also maintaining some ties with Russia as the war between the two former Soviet countries raged on.

However, as Argentina reached the final, Fernandez lost all diplomatic decorum and went after his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

The Guardian reported that Fernandez told the French President before the final, "Dear friend Emmanuel Macron, I hold great affection for you, and I wish you the best for the future. Except for on Sunday. Argentina is my marvelous country, and it's Latin America! Go, light blue and white!"

Macron went to Qatar and watched his team defend their title, while Fernandez stayed behind in Argentina.

Buenos Aires Holds Biggest Street Party in the World After Argentina's World Cup Win

When Lionel Messi scored that first goal for Argentina via a penalty kick, there was a feeling of euphoria in the streets of Buenos Aires, the Argentinian capital. However, when Angel Di Maria scored the second goal, viewing parties turned into mosh pits.

When Kylian Mbappe scored those two next goals in quick succession to tie the game, the atmosphere in the place was extremely tense. However, when Argentina finally won after a penalty shootout, the streets of Buenos Aires turned into the biggest street party in the world.

According to The Telegraph, it was total madness in the streets as the city's iconic obelisk became the unofficial meeting spot for Argentinians celebrating their country's World Cup win.

It was so wild that people started climbing handrails in the nearby San Telmo neighborhood to jump onto the tops of bus stops. Adults and children alike were out on the streets, everyone wearing or being draped with the sky blue and white, the colors of the country's flag.

People started climbing poles and traffic lights, while those on the ground started spraying foam. It was jubilation for Argentinians, as they finally won the "Big One" for the first time since Diego Maradona won it in Mexico in 1986.
