Eminem New Album 2013 News Update: New Track 'Survival' Released for Call of Duty: Ghosts
Rapper Eminem has just released his latest track called "Survival." The new song will be featured on Eminem's upcoming new album as well as the highly-anticipated video game, Call of Duty: Ghosts.
"Survival" is the first single from Eminem's eighth studio album, which has yet to be released. Liz Rodrigues, a member of the band The New Royales is featured on the song.
Similar to some of his past singles, "Survival" features themes of perseverance despite obstacles. The song is characterized by the do-or-die attitude fans have grown to associate with Marshall Mathers, as well as a splash of his comical writing styles.
"And if there should ever come a time where my life's in a rut/And I look like I might just give up, eh you might've mistook/Me for bowing out I ain't taking a bow, I'm stabbing myself/With a f*cking knife in the gut, while I'm wiping my butt/ Cause I just sh*tted on the mic, and like getting cut," Eminem raps casually atop of hard beats.
Eminem, 40, collaborated with Dr. Dre yet again for the upcoming CD. The new album remains untitled and without a release date. According to Paul Rosenberg, Eminem's manager, the CD should drop some time this year.
"We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013," Rosenberg told Billboard. "He's been working on it for some time. It's safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we're not exactly sure when."
Recently, the 13-time Grammy award-winning rapper has been touring Europe. He recently performed for about 80,000 fans at Slane Castle in Dublin, Ireland. This Thursday, he will be spitting rhymes at the Stade De France in St. Denis, France before jet setting to the U.K. There he will perform at the Reading Festival on the 24th and the Leeds Festival on Aug. 25.
Eminem's last studio album was a collaboration with fellow Detroit-based rapper Royce da 5'9''. Together, they call themselves Bad Meets Evil and released Hell: The Sequel in 2011. The album featured Bruno Mars on the mainstream hit "Lighters," as well as Mike Epps on "I'm On Everything."
Call of Duty: Ghosts, which features "Survival" will be available in stores Nov. 5.
