Jeremy Renner Accident Update: Avengers Star Still in Critical Condition, Requires Second Surgery
Actor Jeremy Renner, best known for his role as Avengers founding member Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was caught in a snow plowing accident on New Year's Day. A spokesperson for the Avengers star confirmed he is still in critical but stable condition.
The spokesperson revealed that Renner suffered "blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries" after the accident. The spokesperson also thanked the doctors, nurses, the Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families for their help.
A source close to the actor also told CNN that the Hawkeye actor required two surgeries to treat his injuries. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit in a hospital in Nevada. His family is currently staying with him.
Snow Plow Ran Over Jeremy Renner's Leg During the Accident
The Guardian reported that there were eyewitnesses who saw the accident firsthand. "The Avengers" star was reportedly plowing a road on Sunday morning so that he and his family could be able to get out of their home after a massive snowstorm.
However, one of Renner's neighbors stated that despite its safety features, the snow plow that the actor was driving still managed to run over one of the actor's legs.
He was the only person caught up in the accident, according to reports, with the plow being towed away on Sunday night, only a few hours after the incident.

Jeremy Renner reportedly lost a lot of blood during the ordeal, though he was lucky that one of his neighbors was a doctor, who placed a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived.
The Washoe County Sheriff's office responded to the incident. The actor was then airlifted to a hospital with the help of the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health.
Sergeant Kristin Vietti of Washoe County Sheriff's Office told Deadline that they are "currently looking into the circumstances of the incident."
Renner owned a ranch in Washoe county, which was hit by a massive snowstorm on New Year's Eve. It resulted in around 35,000 homes in the area losing power, with the storm being called the "blizzard of the century" by many as it struck much of the United States.
