Damar Hamlin Injury Update

Hamlin's uncle Dorrian Glenn said that the Bills' safety is "flipped over on his stomach." The hospital was trying to relieve the blood in his lungs.

Glenn added that the doctors said that his nephew was positioned on his stomach to "help take the pressure off the lungs," so that the organ will not have to work as hard.

Hamlin is still sedated on a ventilator. His uncle noted that the next step would be to get Hamlin to breathe on his own.

Glenn recalled one incident wherein his nephew had to be resuscitated twice, saying that the medical team resuscitated Hamlin on the field and doctors had to do the same when Hamlin was brought to the hospital.

Bills player Dion Hawkins talked about the team after their teammate suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed in the middle of a game on the field.

Hawkins said that the team is "devastated," adding that it is a shock to all of them when "things like this happen."

Meanwhile, all 32 NFL teams have changed their Twitter profile pictures to support Hamlin, with the photo reading, "Pray for Damar," with the Bills safety's jersey number, 3.
