NBA: Mavs Star Luka Doncic Has No Plan To Chase LeBron James' Scoring Record – Here's Why

Luka Doncic has been a professional basketball player for the last five years and does not appear interested in extending his career three more times.

If somebody plays 20 seasons like "The King," he says, they can surpass Lakers' LeBron James's ultimate all-time regular season scoring record.

Later, he would laugh at the idea of spending so much time in the league.

The Sports Rush said that Luka is not interested in playing for anywhere close to 20 seasons in the NBA.

Dirk Nowitzki, a player who lasted 21 years, brought a meaningful championship to the Mavs.

This is a victory that means a lot, but Doncic, who has similar ambitions, will not be able to spare that much time on his own.

Lakers superstar LeBron James has made no secret of his desire to play in the NBA with his eldest son Bronny James.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, he will be selected for the league next year.

He has recently shown signs of interest in spending time with Bronny and his middle kid, Bryce Maximus.

Therefore, LeBron James will be playing in the NBA at least through the 2026-27 season.

Moreover, Dennis Schroder stated that James, if his body permits, would like to play until he is in his mid-40s.

Luka Doncic Could Be This Season's MVP

Luka Doncic scored 28 points, had nine assists, and grabbed six rebounds in his debut against the Sacramento Kings, one of the teams who rejected him in the 2018 draft.

Dave Joerger, coach of the Sacramento Kings, tweeted after the game, "Perhaps there was an idea that there was a ceiling on him. I don't see it, unfortunately for us."

Sacramento did not participate in the playoffs for the sixteenth consecutive year as Doncic led the Mavs to the Western Conference finals.

It seems funny now that some in Sacramento doubted Luka would pan out.

He is already a one-man elite offensive at the age of 23, and he will be regarded as the best player alive and one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA.

According to The Ringer, having made the All-NBA first team the previous three years, Doncic entered this season as the odds-on favorite to earn MVP.

Luka Doncic and His Mother's Trademark Dispute

Mavs superstar Luka Doncic and his mother, Mirjam Poterbin, owner of the trademark "LUKA DONCIC 7," have settled a court dispute with significantly less public attention than was initially reported in September.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office case records show that on December 5, Doncic dropped his request to cancel the trademark's registration, which he had initially applied for on September 6.

Doncic and Poterbin's lawyers have yet to reply to The Dallas Morning News' requests for comment.

Meanwhile, Doncic launched his logo in September 2021, not long after he signed his historic $207 million supermax contract extension with the Mavs.

In addition to appearing in his business and charity endeavors, the latter logo has also appeared on every of Doncic's Jordan Brand shoes.
