Did President Joe Biden really leave Texas with a MAGA hat, as reported by many right-wing outlets and personalities? POTUS was seen boarding Air Force 1 while holding a red hat, and this sent many in the right into a frenzy. But was that really a MAGA hat?

The president was in El Paso, Texas for his first visit to the U.S.-Mexico border. He went to federally-funded migrant service centers and met with border patrol agents and staff.

He also met with several workers for the nonprofit Salvation Army, though according to Newsweek, he had another gaffe where he mistook one of them for a member of the Secret Service. Biden did correct himself, but the gaffe went viral soon after.

He told the Salvation Army worker that he once worked for the secret service in Poland and Ukraine before realizing his mistake and quickly correcting himself, saying, "not the secret service, the Salvation Army."

The Salvation Army did give him a gift.

Did Pres. Joe Biden Really Take a Red MAGA Hat?

The tweet by Papi Trumpo was the one that pointed out that Biden was carrying a red hat but overtly said that it was a MAGA hat. Meanwhile, Ben Shapiro's The Daily Wire also tweeted a video but asked, "Did they send him home with a MAGA hat?"

So, did Biden really fly out of Texas with Donald Trump's signature "Make America Great Again" cap? Newsweek pointed out that the video by Papi Trumpo was a bit grainy, so they looked into another video, this time by CNN, and found out that, no, it was not a MAGA hat.

Instead, the cap Biden was carrying around was actually a red Salvation Army cap that was gifted to him. POTUS was even seen walking around wearing the red Salvation Army cap.

While some of the posts were indeed satirical, others were downright claiming that it was indeed a MAGA cap.

Pres. Biden Discussed Migration and Fentanyl While at the U.S.-Mexico Border with Border Patrol Officials

President Joe Biden arrived at the Southern border alongside several Texas Democrats as John Kirby, White House national security spokesman, stated, "This is something that he wanted to see for himself."

CBS News reported that during his meeting with border officials, they discussed several topics, including the mass migrations of people trying to get into the United States from Latin America, as well as the increased trafficking of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. This has become a huge crisis in the United States as the number of overdoses in the country is skyrocketing.

The visit also came as Biden announced a new policy that would ensure fewer people come to the border to seek asylum in the United States. This expands on the previous rule set for Venezuelans that lowered the number of Venezuelans coming into the U.S.-Mexico border by approximately 90%.

Rep. Veronica Escobar, a Democrat from Texas who joined Biden in his tour of the border, stated, "All of these executive branch efforts really are just temporary band-aids, whether it's Title 8, whether it's Title 42 if we need to make sure that Congress acts." She implored congress to act as this was not just the job of the executive branch but also the legislative.
