Shakira has a new song and music video out titled "Out of Your League," and a lot of people are talking about it. Many consider it as a diss track targeting her ex-partner and former FC Barcelona and Manchester United soccer star, Gerard Pique.

Pique is around 10 years younger than the Colombian music icon, but the two also had a decade-long relationship that bore them two children, even if they never got married. They separated in June 2022, with the former FC Barcelona star allegedly cheating on the singer.

"Out of Your League" is a four-minute track and was her first collaboration with Argentinian producer and DJ Bizarrap, according to the BBC.

When Shakira and Pique were still together, they lived in Spain, and this even got the singer in trouble as she allegedly did not pay taxes while living there. However, the soccer star then started a relationship with a 23-year-old woman, Clara Chía.

Shakira made fun of this in her new song, singing, "I'm worth two 22-year-olds," and then added, "You swapped a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo/You swapped a Rolex for a Casio."

Shakira was pretty savage in the song, singing that she was out of the footballer's league, which was why he is now with somebody just like him. She also sang, "a she-wolf like me isn't for rookies."

The singer also lamented being left with her mother-in-law and about her troubles with the Spanish authorities about her ongoing tax battle in the country, according to The Guardian.

Shakira's New Song Breaks Records

"Out of Your League" is also breaking records as it is now YouTube's most-watched Latin music video. As of Friday, it already had over 63 million views and counting, as well as 6 million likes.

On her way to achieving that record, she passed several notable Latin performers including J Balvin, Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee.

This was not her first breakup song, however, because three months ago, she also released Monotonia which was more about heartbreak. "Out of Your League" is more of a diss track about her ex rather than lamenting about a broken heart.

The video was uploaded via DJ Bizarrap's YouTube channel.

Who Is the Producer That Shakira Worked With for the New Song?

DJ Bizarrap is becoming one of the most influential music producers and DJs in the Latin music scene. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, his real name is Gonzalo Julian Conde. He made a name for himself by mixing freestyles for Argentine rappers in the late 2010s, according to the Los Angeles Times.

He became even more popular with the YouTube series, "Bzrp Music Sessions," which are one-off sessions performed live in his studio in Barcelona, Spain.

The producer has worked with the likes of Duki, Nicki Nicole, and Paulo Londra, as well as Spanish rapper Quevedo and Puerto Rican rapper Villano Antillano. He has even worked with Skrillex, whom the Argentinian admitted was one of his influences.
