Twingo Owner Gerard Pique Makes Another Epic Response to Viral Shakira 'Revenge' Song
Following the release of Shakira's new song many considered a diss track targeting her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique, the Spanish football legend seemed to have responded to it again. This time by going to work in a Renault Twingo car.
In the Colombian pop star's latest song, Shakira sang, "I'm worth two of 22 / You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo."
In a video that circulated on Twitter over the weekend, Pique was seen driving a Twingo car and parking it in a car park as he arrived for work in Barcelona, Spain, which seemed to be a deliberate response to Shakira's diss track, The Independent reported.
The car reportedly retails from £7,985 ($9,800). Pique has recently partnered up with Casio, which seemed to be another response to Shakira's diss track.
In her new viral song, Shakira also sang, "You swapped a Rolex for a Casio." Responding to Shakira's track, Pique revealed in a press conference over the weekend that he had gotten Casio to agree to sponsor the Spanish King's League.
Pique has joined the Kings League competition, in which 12 teams comprised of former players and Spanish influencers compete for the top spot.
"Casio has sent us wristwatches. We reached a sponsorship agreement with Casio, the King's League struck a deal with Casio," Pique noted as he showed off a brand new Casio watch.
He was then asked if he was joking, but he answered, "I'm being serious," before handing out Casio watches to other King's League participants.
Argentina striker Sergio Aguero, who previously celebrated his country's World Cup win a little too wildly, deadpanned that Pique was able to get the Casio deal "because of Shakira's song."

Twingo Owner in Argentina Also Hits Back at Shakira for Dissing Twingo Cars
Shakira's song also somehow managed to trigger some Twingo owners. Among them was a well-known Argentinian handball coach named Turca Sabir.
According to The Daily Mail, Sabir and other Twingo owners had a get-together in Cordoba on Sunday, and she defended their beloved vehicle of choice.
"It's my first car, the one I always wanted," she said in an interview with Argentine news outlet TN, adding that she always wanted to have one and even had it idealized.
She then placed a poster over its rear windshield that in Spanish read: 'I will never abandon you for anything in the world."
She said the poster drew the attention of other car owners after she forgot to remove it. She noted that the car owners even offered to buy her car.
Despite all these offers, she refuses to part ways with her car, admitting that she worked three jobs just to get her first car, which she almost did not get as she lost hope thinking a Twingo was out of her price range.
However, by January 2018, she was finally able to buy one for 75,000 Argentine pesos, which is around $411.
Sabir reportedly had one question for Shakira: "Did you have one like this for the first time?"
What Did the Viral Shakira Diss Song Say?
According to BBC, Shakira collaborated with Spain-based Argentinian producer and DJ Bizarrap for this four-minute pop song. The song itself was uploaded on his YouTube channel.
Shakira mostly hit at her ex-partner's cheating, saying that she was "worth two of 22," likely referring to the age of Gerard Pique's 23-year-old girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, who is rumored to have started seeing the Spanish footballer when she was 22.
Shakira also lamented about Pique leaving her with his mother as he played soccer and blamed him for her recent tax troubles with the Spanish government.
Shakira also made fun of his workout efforts, singing, "lots of time at the gym, but your brain needs a little work too."
The 45-year-old Colombian singer split from the 35-year-old former FC Barcelona and Manchester United soccer star in June 2022. They have two children.
Within the first 24 hours of the release of the diss track "BZRP Music Sessions #53" or "Out of Your League," the song broke YouTube records by amassing 63 million views, becoming the No. 1 most-viewed Latin song on YouTube.
