George Santos Denies Being a Drag Queen in Brazil, but Wiki Post Says Otherwise
Embattled Congressman George Santos of New York has denied that he was a drag queen who went by the name "Kitara Revache," while living in Brazil more than 10 years ago.
The lawmaker tweeted Thursday, "The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or 'performed' as a drag Queen is categorically false."
"The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life while I am working to deliver results. I will not be distracted nor fazed by this," he added.
The social media post came after a Brazilian drag queen posted on Instagram a photo of herself with another individual dressed in drag that she said was "Anthony" or "Kitara Revache," his drag name.
Brazilian drag queen Eula Rochard has told journalist Marisa Kabas that the New York representative was never known as George back then, as he was going by "Anthony."
She also confirmed that it was Santos who was wearing a red dress in the photo. "Anthony" was one of the aliases that Santos used in the past, sometimes introducing himself as "Anthony Devolder."
Rochard, a well-known performer in Brazil, said she was friends with Santos when the congressman was still living in Rio de Janeiro.
Rochard sent CNN a clearer photo of Santos as Kitara Revache, though the outlet admitted that they could not verify its authenticity.

George Santos, Alias Anthony Devolder, Admitted to be a Drag Queen in WIKI Profile
George Santos has used several aliases in his various business transactions and alleged scams.
One of these is Anthony Devolder which is reportedly his most used alias. The embattled Republican lawmaker also seemed to use that name in a Wikipedia biography. A
ccording to Politico, the account with a user named Anthony Devolder wrote in his WIKI profile that he started his "stage" life at 17 as a gay nightclub drag queen.
The profile, which was last edited on April 29, 2011, also stated that he had won several gay beauty pageants.
Eula Rochard has said Santos was never a professional drag performer, but the congressman competed in a drag beauty pageant in Rio de Janeiro.
She noted that Santos did not have what it takes to be a professional drag performer as he "did not have the glamour for that."
According to Politico, Santos used the Anthony Devolder alias in other online accounts. The outlet also reached out to Santos but was referred to an outside aide who has yet to respond to the query.
The report noted that if another person created the Anthony Devolder Wiki bio, "it would mean someone used the same alias and same biographical details as him a dozen years ago, all for a user page no one else would see."
NBC News also asked Brazilian reporter Joao Fragah who interviewed "Kitara Revache" in that now-viral video that showed a drag queen who looks like Santos answering the reporter's questions more than a decade ago.
The reporter said he was confident that the drag queen he interviewed was indeed the embattled congressman.
Republicans Shunning George Santos
While the Democrats are calling for his resignation, George Santos' fellow Republicans also seem to be shunning him.
According to The Hill, several Republicans have voiced their displeasure with the openly-gay Republican, including Rep. James Comer (R-Ky), who called him a "bad guy," as well as Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), who called him an "impostor."
At least seven of his fellow House Republicans have already called for him to resign, five of whom are first-term New York lawmakers.
