NSYNC Reunion at 2013 VMAs: Lance Bass Addresses Reunion Rumors
The New York Post has reported that *NSYNC will hold a reunion at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Aug. 25. Today, Lance Bass addressed the rumors.
According to the Post, the boy band, who reigned the pop world from the mid '90s until the early '00s, will put on a reunion performance. Justin Timberlake, who gained fame as one of the band's lead singers, is already scheduled to perform at the award show. Former bandmates J.C. Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass are rumored to join him on stage.
All members of *NSYNC were allegedly spotted Aug. 16 in the VIP section of Timberlake's concert with Jay-Z at Sun Life Stadium in Miami alongside Jessica Biel and Lynn Harless, Timberlake's mother.
The rumors have not been confirmed, with the Post being the only source to report the news officially.
Today, Bass, weighed in on his Sirius radio show, "Dirty Pop."
"This is exactly how it happened, and I knew these rumors were going to fly," he said. "Joey [Fatone], Chris [Kirkpatrick] and myself went to go see Justin's last show with Jay-Z at the stadium last Friday... I think that's what started the rumor that there's going to be this big reunion."
Bass uploaded a photo of himself with Kirkpatrik and Fatone on Instagram, somewhat contradicting the Post's earlier claims as Chasez was not present. Still, Bass seemed happy that fans are excited to see a reunion, which would be "an amazing, amazing time," he said.
"It's amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media [and] how many people are supporting *NSYNC," he said. "It's so nice to see because when we ended things [over] 10 years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter," he said. "It's so cute to see how many people are supporting [us], and *NSYNC was even trending."
Chasez, on the other hand, might not be as quick to jump to a reunion.
"It's just not in the cards," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm sure that everybody in my group has been asked at one time or another ... but we're happy with what it was and we're happy to move on."
