3 Missing Michigan Rappers Believed to Have Been Found Dead in Detroit Apartment
Three bodies found Thursday in Detroit are believed to be those three Michigan rappers who have been missing for almost two weeks.
Three police sources familiar with the investigation told The Detroit News that the bodies, believed to be rappers Armani Kelly, 27; Dante Wicker, 31; and Montoya Givens, 31, were found under a pile of debris in the basement of a vacant apartment building in Highland Park.
In particular, the sources noted that investigators found the men's bodies inside the Northcourse Apartments building on Thursday. Detectives were led to the area after obtaining the three men's cellphone data.
The Michigan rappers' mobile phones "pinged" to a location near the abandoned apartment complex. After an extensive search of the building by numerous police officers, the remains were discovered in the basement under old construction equipment. A source told the outlet that the victims had been shot.

Michigan Rappers Possibly Killed by Former Inmates
Michigan State Police, who is leading the investigation into the bodies, have yet to confirm the victims' identities, but sources revealed them to The Detroit News. Michigan State Police 1st Lt. Mike Shaw said the apartment complex on the corner of McNichols and Log Cabin was not operating.
'It's supposed to be abandoned, but there are a lot of squatters in there,' Shaw noted.
Lorrie Kemp, Kelly's mother, previously expressed fear that former inmates murdered her son after he was released from prison last year for an armed robbery charge, The Daily Mail reported.
Kemp and Kelly's fiancé Taylor Perrin reported him missing two days after the rapper disappeared. However, it took police a whole week to realize Wicker and Givens had also been missing in what detectives have called an "extraordinary' case."
According to Perrin, Kelly met the other two men during his eight years in prison. Kemp believed her son might have been targeted by those he encountered in jail and he was already dead before his body was discovered.
"I'm angry because you did eight years in prison, and you didn't die, and now you come out, and they kill you," Kemp said after the three men mysteriously vanished.
"He's dead - I don't care. I love that people are optimistic, and I love that they think there's hope, but I know in my gut," she added.
Missing Michigan Rappers Were Supposed to Perform but Canceled
The missing Michigan rappers were supposed to perform at Lounge 31 in Detroit on January 21 but had not been heard from since the show was canceled last minute due to equipment problems, MLive reported.
Last week, Warren police arrested a 15-year-old boy driving Kelly's 2017 Chevrolet Equinox without a license plate. A Detroit police source told The Detroit News that the boy told police that a man asked him to pick up the vehicle on Schoolcraft in Detroit.
Authorities looked into the teenager's mobile phone. Calls and texts had led them to a man who lives on Ashton in Detroit. The source told the outlet that the man had an outstanding warrant for alleged fraud.
The insider said the man's house was searched Monday after the police got a warrant, and he was also taken into custody for questioning. The teenager has been charged in connection with possessing Kelly's vehicle.
Police said he was already arrested last week at an apartment complex in Warren. The source noted another break in the case came after authorities found a video of the man wearing gloves cleaning out Kelly's car.
