Wimbledon 2014 Results, Video Highlights, Live Stream: Rafael Nadal Reaches Last 16; Roger Federer to Face Santiago Giraldo
Rafael Nadal recovered from another disappointing start to beat Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan to advance to the Round of 16 of this year's Wimbledon Saturday.
Kukushkin took advantage of Nadal's slow start to win the first set via a tie-breaker, but Nadal, who also dropped the first set in his first two matches, found his rhythm in the second set.
Nadal took a break after the opening set, and it worked in his favor as he cruised to a 3-1 lead after breaking Kukushkin in the fourth game of the second set. The world's No.1-ranked tennis player never looked back en route to a 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 wins from the second to fourth set, finishing the match in two hours and 34 minutes.
Nadal, who is looking to win his third Wimbledon title, will face either Nick Kyrgios or Jiri Vesely in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Roger Federer will resume his chase for his eighth Wimbledon title when he collides with Santiago Giraldo of Colombia in the third match scheduled at the Centre Court.
Federer, who previously said that he feels confident that he can win in this year's tournament, opened his campaign with a 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 win over Paolo Lorenzi of Italy. The former world No. 1 then defeated Gilles Muller in the second round 6-3, 7-5, 3-6.
If the Swiss tennis superstar survives his third-round challenge, he will face either 15th-seeded Jerzy Janowicz or 23rd-seeded Tommy Robredo in the next round.
