Meghan Markle Had Encounter With Rebel Wilson Who Said Duchess Wasn't as 'Naturally Warm' as Prince Harry
Meghan Markle and Rebel Wilson met each other when a mutual friend introduced the Australian actress to Markle and Prince Harry.
The actress opened up that Prince Harry "could not have been nicer" while Markle "was not as cool," according to Daily Mail.
Wilson told host Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live!" that Markle "wasn't as naturally warm."
However, she went on to say that Markle's cold demeanor may have been due to her mother, Sue Bownds, asking the duchess some personal questions, such as "where are your kids?"
Wilson said that her mother was "being Australian" and asked the Duchess of Sussex "all these slightly rude questions."
She then reproached her mom, saying, "mom, don't ask her that."
The mutual friend of the Sussexes and Wilson was a polo player, and Harry was known to be an avid polo player at a club in the area.
Meghan Markle Accused of 'Difficult' Behavior
There have been earlier reports of Meghan Markle being accused of having "difficult" behavior, including by her former Kensington Palace staffers, as reported by Fox News.
The staffers claimed that they were bullied by the duchess while she lived there.
Buckingham Palace investigated how the staff handled allegations of bullying, but the findings will be private.
Markle explained in her podcast last year that being "particular" is not the same as being "difficult."
She also discussed how she had to fight against the "angry Black woman" trope, which was incorporated into almost every role available to her at the time.
Meghan Markle went on to say that the casting sheets had a description of the character as always having an "edge or an attitude."
In an interview with Paris Hilton, she recalled feeling "objectified" as a briefcase girl on the show "Deal or No Deal," as cited by Yahoo Life.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
A spokesperson for the Sussexes recently confirmed that Harry has recently "received email corresponded" from King Charles's office regarding the coronation.
The representative said that an immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be released publicly by them at this time.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace had yet to comment on the matter.
A source close to Harry and Markle earlier told PEOPLE that the invitation for King Charles's coronation had yet to be extended.
A palace insider said at the time that the couple would be invited to the duke's father's coronation.
The Sussexes stepped down from their senior royal duties in January 2020, which caused a strain in the relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family members.
In addition, further tensions were placed on the connection after Harry published his memoir, "Spare," revealing a trove of family secrets such as an alleged physical fight with his brother, Prince William.
Harry also claimed in his book that Charles made "hurtful comments" about his "real father."
