Shakira’s Song with Karol G Makes History on Billboard Global
Karol G and Shakira's new collaboration song titled "TQG" has reached the top of the charts globally, making it the biggest song in the world right now as it debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated March 11).
Billboard pointed out that this is the first time either Colombian singer made it to No. 1 in these rankings. The song is notable as the two talked about their famous exes and the messy breakups that came from their respective relationships. Shakira dated famous Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique, while Karol G dated rapper Anuel AA.
These two Billboard rankings are based on streaming and sales activity from over 200 countries and territories around the world and then compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data during the Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the United States.
"TQG" started out strong in the Global 200 charts and is now ranked ninth all-time in that very chart, with the song being streamed 158.4 million times. Only acts like BTS, Miley Cyrus, BLACKPINK, and Adele have had more streams than theirs as of the moment.
