The kids of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have now officially received their titles of prince and princess after years of uncertainty over the royal titles of Archie and Lilibet.

Harry and Meghan have expressed that they want their kids to be recognized as people connected to the British throne.

The couple noted in the announcement of Lilibet's christening that their daughter will now be known as "Princess Lilibet," TMZ reported.

Buckingham Palace said its website will also be updated for the titles of Lilibet and Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not said anything about Archie.

King Charles III has yet to talk about the titles he granted to his grandchildren. There were earlier reports that the new monarch was considering stripping Archie and Lilibet of their status as he was eager to decrease the number of royal titles and keep those inside the family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Daughter Lilibet's Christening

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed to PEOPLE that "Princess Lilibet Diana was christened" in an intimate ceremony at their home in Montecito, California, on March 3.

Rev. John Taylor, the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, blessed the youngest child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The duke and duchess reportedly extended an invite to King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. However, they were not in attendance, according to a source.

An insider told the outlet that there were about 20 to 30 guests at the christening of Lilibet, which included Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland; Lilibet's godfather, Tyler Perry; and one unnamed godmother of the child.

Harry previously told PEOPLE that he wished his children would have a meaningful relationship with the royal family.

"I've wanted a family, not an institution. So... I would love nothing more than for our children to have relationships with members of my family, and they do with some, which brings me great joy," the Duke of Sussex told the outlet.

Harry has also written about the family's final visit with Queen Elizabeth II before her death in his memoir, "Spare."

Harry and Meghan's kids previously had the titles "Master Archie" and "Miss Lilibet."

The Royal Family Rift

According to The Independent, a royal commentator claimed that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, would rather "have Prince Andrew as their neighbor" over the Sussex couple.

This report came weeks after King Charles III evicted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their U.K. residence, the Frogmore Cottage, and offered the residence to his younger brother.

However, reports also suggested that Charles is eyeing to extend an "olive branch" and offer a suite in Buckingham Palace to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

A source claimed that Charles was "furious" with his youngest son but that the "King is not a bad man." As King Charles' coronation nears, invitations are being sent out, with Harry and Meghan receiving theirs.

However, Sarah Ferguson has revealed that she has yet to receive the invitation to the coronation. Other coronation matters include some changes to the oil that will be used to anoint Charles and Queen Camilla.

It was reported that the "holy oil" used during the coronation will no longer include ambergris, a solid waxy substance from whale intestines.
